The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Harm to Ongoing Matter The Presidency of Donald J. Trump: Harm to Ongoing Matter

Imagine both:

A) Remarking on the incredulousness of the mightiest hurricane EVER and the coldest colds EVER during your tenure as POTUS. Of all time. What are the freaking odds?!?! My presidency is so great that literally we are shattering all the records!

And

B) Denying that the climate is changing (AKA Climate Change). Instead, ridicule the notion that the climate is changing.

Alternatively is their scientific evidence for more extreme colds in the Winter for global warming despite temperatures rising or is it just variance?
Massive increase in stratosphere temp above the pole causes the polar vortex to become unstable and split. Global warming can certainly cause that to become a more common occurrence.

Wait, why is the SOTU back on?? I thought Nancy said she wouldn't do it until the government is open for good, and not while trump threatens another one.

What's Nancy's game here?

From a Space Force NASA web site:

Quote:
In place of inadvertent climate modification, Charney adopted Broecker's usage. When referring to surface temperature change, Charney used "global warming." When discussing the many other changes that would be induced by increasing carbon dioxide, Charney used "climate change."
and the concluding paragraph:
Quote:
But temperature change itself isn't the most severe effect of changing climate. Changes to precipitation patterns and sea level are likely to have much greater human impact than the higher temperatures alone. For this reason, scientific research on climate change encompasses far more than surface temperature change. So "global climate change" is the more scientifically accurate term. Like the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, we've chosen to emphasize global climate change on this website, and not global warming.

Ask yourself- do you believe in some massive conspiracy of pretty much all the worlds scientists?

And yes it’s the scientific process-so there is probably room to argue around the edges, but to not realize in your own lifetime that things are changing (ice shelf pictures), CO2 increasing 15-20% over my work lifetime (I measure ambient air frequently for aerobic fermentation-350 ppm common in the 80’s—over 400 ppm now- and rate of increase is increasing. Think about it- a step change in the environment in a few decades- no time at all compared to eons.

If you can’t understand weather vs climate, you are simply incapable. I wouldn’t need tell my brain surgeon how to do their job-I’d just have to trust them.

It's typical dem gameplan--fall like charlie brown when lucy takes the football despite that happening every single time.
01-29-2019 , 12:44 AM
regarding climate change--they simply do not care whatsoever and since people make you feel bad for not caring they're forced to pretend to argue against it.

Refusing the SOTU now would be a bad move by Nancy. I don't remember her using the phrase "for good," but even if she did, she'd lose too much and gain too little insisting on that. Take the W and move on.

This is a derposphere gotcha which is not true. He was a US ATTORNEY at the time.

Of course, it is not "merely" the numbers.

He relies upon Fox News pundits (and I use that word pejoratively) for all sorts of policy advice and recommendations.

There are about a million things that trouble me about the Trump presidency, but that has got to be in the top 10.

I mean, that’s what I’ve been saying this whole time. The SOTUA will happen regardless, why not have it when the govt is maximally dysfunctional?

OTOH, if the Muller report drops the day or two before the SOTUA, that would be an elite move by Pelosi.

My 4th grader just took a weather test less than two weeks ago. One question was to explain the difference between weather and climate. Vote for my kid for POTUS.

This is a misunderstanding of what she said. She said she wouldn’t do it until the government was back open. This was after Trump agreed to reopen the government but before the bills were signed into law. Several news outlets reported her comments wrong.

There is some trolling here but the media don't help. I recall Seb Gorka on BBC radio a while back being asked about climate change (the BBC must think he's an expert). Within 20 seconds he proved he doesn't understand what the word climate means.

7:54am EST and no tweets yet? McDouble heart attack one time dealer!!

And JFC the global warming tweets never fail to amaze me.

Me too. I think it's a good thing because, while he might be mostly just trolling, every time he does it has an impact.

Very much this. Of all the horrible things he's responsible for, being a climate change denier and actively ****ing the entire globe a bit more in this crucial periode of time is probably the worst.
