Is there any documentation on this? I'm surprised undocumented workers or the businesses they are working for are filling in the proper paperwork for these deductions to be made. Or that the numbers of low paying jobs is hight enough to make a material difference in these programs.

Nope. Accenture is a whole different level of grifting than Trump.

It's good to hear the president railing against someone whose business is paying him money... isn't it?

It's such a perfect Trump line that encapsulates his world view. When any one pays money to his company, he doesn't think of that as a mutually beneficial transaction agreed upon by rational actors. No, in his mind, he's taking money from a chump second party. It's him winning and them losing.

Awval, I hope you know that when you stayed at the Trump hotel, Donald Trump thought "I took this chump's money because he's a loser and I'm a winner."

Racism comes from selfishness. It's putting your interests above the interests of others who are not like you. It's one of the two most common traits that Trump supporters have (the other being cruelty).

It's why Trump is completely unable to understand how international trade works. In his mind, mutually beneficial trade simply doesn't exist. It's why he views the trade deficit as one country literally stealing money from another country. I don't know how anybody, even if they are very stupid, can leave Wharton and not know one of the most basic principles of economics.

Accenture, Capita, Capgemini etc are all at it.

In the UK, and especially with respect to IT contracts, there are a handful of firms that get virtually all Govt contracts...

Here are the 10 IT consultancies that win the most work from the UK government (2016)

... and invariably they are delivered massively late, massively over budget or not all.

This obviously has nothing to do with the revolving doors between Govt and these firms - where company execs are seconded to govt and govt ministers (and others) get sweet directorship deals with these firms when they retire.

Nothing to see here.

An absolute sham.

If you're in the UK and don't already read it get Private Eye - the only (imo) non partisan news source we have - they cover all these shenanigans in detail and the reality is quite shocking.

Most big companies that hire undocumented immigrants aren't paying cash under the table, they fill out the paperwork like they would for anyone else. The immigrants get bogus documents so the BigCo has some plausible deniability.

How are they getting around church/state separation? Or hasn't the ACLU sued them yet?
01-28-2019 , 11:02 AM
It's not illegal to study the Bible in a literature class.
01-28-2019 , 11:04 AM
It sounds like it would be if you weren't studying any other bibles...

Do Mormons study the gold plates? What’s the point if only the child raping murderer founder guy could read them? Given that his initial reading said black people were demons can we really trust his reading skills?
01-28-2019 , 11:17 AM
Welcome back PVN
01-28-2019 , 11:19 AM
Not being mormon I would assume they study the writings of wasshisname since the plates were returned to the angel who brought them over from wherever and they no longer exist in this timeline.

Also, Trump doesn't own most of the buildings with his name on them. They are Trump-branded, but not Trump-owned.

Catching up through the thread this AM, and had the Trump tweet multi-quoted to posted exactly this. Trump thinks that line of goading will work, because it would on him. He's projecting his exact insecurities onto Schultz.

Also Trump doesn't own any of that stuff because he totally divested himself of all his businesses

That good ol' mix of racism and braggadocio

Quote:
The president has also claimed to guests, without evidence, that his private dining room off the Oval Office was in “rough shape” and had a hole in the wall when he came into the West Wing and that President Barack Obama used it to watch sports, according to two White House officials and two other people who have heard him discuss the dining room. “He just sat in here and watched basketball all day,” Trump told a recent group, before saying he upgraded Obama’s smaller TV to a sprawling, flat-screen one, the four people said.
Quote:
He brags about how many television sets there are in the West Wing and his fancy system of toggling between channels made for him — he calls it a “Super TiVo,” according to White House aides and Sims’s book.

“I think it’s one of the greatest inventions,” Trump has said, according to Sims. The author said the comment was made “with a smirk, as if to acknowledge his reputation as a television addict.”
