Jim Acosta doing super serious face in Wolf right now. Methinks he is being extra careful to not crack a smile.

I mean, who's gonna stop him? The Senate? Lynzie was just on Twitter a couple weeks ago practically begging him to do it. The SCOTUS? The one that just let his transgender military ban take effect even though the case hasn't been decided by lower courts? He can do whatever he wants basically.

Nope. They sent him to a feelings management camp so there would be no more outbursts of karate chops.

Trump would have to be a complete idiot to agree to this and not get SOTU back. Wait...

I really doubt it.

It won't take six weeks next time for a wildcat that shuts down some major bit of transportation infrastructure, or something equivalent. Sick-in Disease can be quite contagious.

So far it seems like McConnell, Kushner, and maybe Miller have convinced him to not declare an emergency but from what he said today they only have him convinced to hold off until after a clean CR passes and he's denied his precious wall money.

Jim Acosta: "No wall, just a cave..."

Just realized that we are going to be hearing a lot more about her emailz but not in the way R congressional committees have been for the past few years....

This was hilarious to read!

https://www.thedailybeast.com/roger-...er&via=desktop

Sarah Sanders, balefully squinting at the camera, gamely muttered, “This has nothing to do with the President.” Oh, Sarah. That’s like saying sucking down a brace of Filet O’Fish sandwiches thrice daily has nothing to do with Trump’s enormous booty.

This sort of stuff should destroy him in the ensuing court battle just like his and Giuliani's statements about the Muslim ban. If it's such an emergency why did he postpone action for 3 weeks?

Of course as correct as pointing out that apparent contradiction would be, I'm not going to be surprised if 5 dudes in the SC decide to not give a ****.

Fair point. We should just call him a racist criminal instead. More accurate imo.

He's good. He's very much on the "Trump has corrupted Principled Conservativism" train and unironically retweets people like Megan McArdle, but I'll allow it.

So some out there are all upset roger stone got arrested by a whole swat team when stone definitely was all "I AINT GONNA GO DOWN EASILY" then doesn't have to pay one cent for bail and gets a press conference and on TV that night.

Yeah, he's the real victim on unfairness here.

Now most criminals going on TV and talking would be one of the things an attorney would tell you not to do, but in his case his shot is a pardon so there you go.

lot of great photos of roger stone walking out of the courthouse on $250k bail but my favorites are the ones where he raises his arms up high exposing his whole belly. if you wanted to mentally combine the nixon and trump worlds it'll be tough to find a better picture than that

I mean it is really a minor point, but the actions of someone in war time have nothing to do with their actions 40 or more years later as President.

The Pres. would have to use military funds for a while and then would have to provide detailed info about the emergency for any additional funding after 120 days or something.

It's such a bad idea that I'm surprised Trump didn't do it.
Still catching up but I mostly agree with this and it’s impact going forward.

I’m not giving any credit to congressional republicans other than they have an actual jeopardy radar. There will not likely be a shutdown in three weeks. In fact congress has dumped everything on trump now and they will be able to bypvass them.

Trump took this as a way out and will be moved on to something else.

I’m guessing federal employees will make it known they are not showing up day 1.
