The thing that makes Trump WOAT is he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room no matter what the subject is. If he was in a room w/ Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and John Elway, Trump would think he's the best QB in the room. That's how ****ing stupid he is.

Trump is going to declare himself a dictator tomorrow night on live tv and nobody in congress will do a ****ing thing about it and there will little to no pushback in the streets.

It’s code red time to burn this mother ****er down.
01-07-2019 , 08:43 PM
All the networks are going to air it, obviously.

This ****ing country man.

The Dems in the US House will file suit if he declares a national emergency and orders construction on the wall. If he ignores the Supreme Court ruling they'll impeach him.

I suspect there will be protests after the announcement, assuming that's what this is tomorrow night, but they won't be too huge/crazy. If he ignores a Supreme Court ruling, that's the time to really push back in the streets. We'll see if it happens.

I think they should air it. It's of national importance. Like if this is Trump declaring a national emergency, Clovis is basically right that he's going to announce he's dictator. We can't stick our heads in the sand and ignore it and pretend it didn't happen. They should be fact checking it live, but they should air it.

I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for the Supreme Court to check him

Holy **** guys, he’s not going to declare an emergency tommorrow. He’s just going to whine and make that same stupid pitch that SHS made, to try to move the needle of public opinion in his favor. He doesn’t need a prime time press conference to declare a state of emergency.
01-07-2019 , 10:07 PM
Jesus Christ, Manchin is on CNN saying he's fine with Trump declaring a national emergency. This is actually going to happen, and if Manchin supports it then he's obviously getting away with it.

Of course he doesn’t need a press conference he wants one. It is vintage trump to declare HIS power on live tv.

Manchin, plenty of notable Democratic politicians, and, I dunno, 30% of the Democrats in the country are utterly deplorable.

I have the sinking feeling that we have 23.5 hours of liberal democracy left in America. I expect him to declare the national emergency, and if Manchin is cheering him on, I'm a ****ing moron for thinking there's a >50% chance of SCOTUS stopping him.

Nice to see how generic I am though.

NY Times article on rural Trump voters getting ****ed by the shutdown
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/07/u...-marianna.html

Last quote is telling,
““I voted for him, and he’s the one who’s doing this,” she said of Mr. Trump. “I thought he was going to do good things. He’s not hurting the people he needs to be hurting.””

Like does she not listen to herself? ****ing government should be helping people not hurting people

This. It's going to be wall to wall scare mongering about migrants and complaining about Dems. The networks will put out something the next day how, oh shucks, they were bamboozled by Trump saying he was doing something on the up and up. They'll promise won't happen again, until it does.

Guys, chillax, he’s not pulling a Reichstag. Seriously, the doom and sudden gloom.

Dunno. Don't think the court will stop him.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Emergencies_Act

Presidents declared national emergencies 42 times from 1976 to 2007.

Quote:
Congress has delegated at least 136 distinct statutory emergency powers to the President upon the declaration of an emergency, with only 13 of these requiring a declaration from Congress.
Quote:
Emergency presidential powers are dramatic, and range from suspending all laws regulating chemical and biological weapons, including the ban on human testing (50 U.S.C. § 1515, 1969); to suspending any Clean Air Act implementation plan or excess emissions penalty upon petition of a state governor (42 U.S.C. § 7410(f) 1977); to authorizing and constructing any unauthorized construction (10 U.S.C. § 2808(a), 1982) using any existing defense appropriations for any military constructions ($10.4 billion in FY2018[11]); to drafting any retired Coast Guard officers (14 U.S.C. § 331, 1963) or enlisted members (14 U.S.C. § 359, 1949) into active duty.
Obama declared 13 national emergencies and Trump has already declared 3.
