Yeah I was going to make a joke “If Warren is the nomination I would be forced to vote for Trump (or Stein or Johnson). But it is not a funny joke because it was literally what lots of real voters did in 2016.

I don’t agree with those who think just showing up with a live body is enough in 2020. I have also seen several people on twitter talking about “Just focus on her policies.” That is painfully naive on how presidential elections work.

We already know a huge number of the electorate are racist and/or sexist. So any candidate violating those offenses have a tougher row to hoe. Piling up more “issues” and “concerns” right away creates for a potentially troubling candidate. Agreeing with a candidates policy and politics is simply not enough.

They're not comparable. Hillary's Emails had new developments and FBI investigations and ****. It's a pretty common narrative that Comey re-opening the FBI case is what threw the entire election. Trump had a ton of help in building the Crooked Hillary nonsense.

How do you envision this Pocahontas stuff playing out? Everyone rallying around Trump and the Deplorables in the name of respecting the racial identity of Native Americans? lmao

Trump will say the Pocahontas stuff a few times and then have to move on to something else.

Say the election is just between HRC and Warren. The general election. Who do you vote for?
01-03-2019 , 06:26 PM
Warren of course because I could never vote for a republican candidate.

More coal plants shut down in Trump’s first two years than in Obama’s entire first term
01-03-2019 , 06:27 PM
Ted Lieu said they won’t negotiate on border security or wall during shutdown because then trump will shut down the government every time he wants something.

I hope they hold true to that and don’t cave in.

i think i read the exchange you had with fly in the dork web thread and now this with rep. comparing those two to any nitty definition, part, or parcel of Trumpism or whatever it is you want to juxtapose them with is nonsense

maybe they spew venom, maybe they spit hot fire, their heart's in the right place imo. maybe they can take it down a notch, but you can also choose how you react to them and you definitely don't have to be so stubborn about it

wrt to American political history, you guys just sound like you're arguing about semantics and/or nitty definitions of arbitrary timelines but i'll give this a shot: the current Republican Party is a result of 50-60 years of racist and/or disingenuous behavior. it started with Southern Strategy and has basically never wavered from that in principle. the only thing Trump did was amplify the microphone

ETA: social media has also basically taken off the launchpad from the time Trump announced his candidacy to now. social media has amplified EVERYTHING. so all the negative **** in the world is now in your face on a phone, pad, lap or desktop and psychologically you always remember the negative more than the positive on a one for one basis. it is really ****ing disturbing at this point

Man he's dumb. Coal miners and people who pretend to care about the trade imbalance won't care though.

Honestly I don't see this ending without a wall. Dems cave way way more than Rs do. I think Trump gets his 5B wall and dems hopefully get something huge. Way more than just DACA.

I never reply to either. You’ll note rep attached me out of the blue today. I only responded to his attack. I ignore them both as rule.

Warren. But I’m not the problem.

Cool. Just wondering. I think it's pretty natural for people to be at least a little inclined to think the people they don't want to win are the ones less likely to win.

The FBI was corrupt and the media was grossly irresponsible around emails in ways that are not likely to occur, but people are learning the wrong lesson if they assume that any politician can be brought down by nonsense at will unless they're good at social media or whatever. Hillary engaged in all kinds of bad behavior that made her vulnerable to allegations of corruption. If the FBI finds a bunch of government emails you sent from your personal account when they're serving warrants on a pedo, you need to be questioning your choices a little bit.

I completely get that. But I’m just more worried than anything. It’s not like I have some other “ideal” candidate to push forward for the Democrats. So I’m likely to be concerned about potential flaws and short comings for any candidate because I think the consequences of Trump getting re elected are bad.

If I was from the future, where Warren won the Whitehouse in 2020, and came back in a time machine I would have zero qualms with it.

It is a little unfair on Warren because she is basically the first one stepping forward and the reality is the democratic candidates will be sized up against one another. Every potential candidate, at this point, I have some issues with, but I am going to end up voting for whomever wins the nomination.

Disagree on bolded. We’d still be in the Iran deal and there would be no family separation policy at the border. Rest is accurate.

That skinhead press conference is the most surreal moment of the last two years. How in the **** is this real life?
