Yeah. All religions were founded by crazy people or con men, definitionally. Mormonism seems more ridiculous because we have better historical (non-religious) documentation about who their founder was. But it’s a safe bet that Mohammed was just a more successful Joseph Smith, and Jesus was just a more successful version of David Koresh.

R-Money has 'em SHOOK

This one wants to essentially scrap the 2020 GOP primary and declare Trump the nominee

Romney's attack prompts call to protect Trump from 2020 primary challenger

Quote:
Mitt Romney’s scorching critique of President Trump in a New Year’s Day op-ed has sparked a call from within the Republican National Committee to change party rules to protect Trump from any long-shot primary challenge in 2020.

The RNC committeeman representing the Virgin Islands late Tuesday emailed fellow elected members of the national party urging them to change the rules when they convene in New Mexico for their annual winter meeting later this month. Republicans are confident that Trump would hold off any primary challenger, but worry the campaign would derail his re-election.

“Look, the political history is clear. No Republican president opposed for re-nomination has ever won re-election,” RNC committeeman Jevon O.A. Williams said in a email obtained by the Washington Examiner. “Unfortunately, loopholes in the rules governing the 2020 re-nomination campaign are enabling these so-called Republicans to flirt with the possibility of contested primaries and caucuses.”

Also don't ask why having some other guy die would mean that you're suddenly no longer accountable for your own misdeeds. It just does.

Choo choo, full derail ahead

Wow. LOL.

The "gas is like another tax cut" thing is brilliant. When the deplorables are doing their taxes this year and somehow not finding that huge refund, they'll be able to shake their heads and smile knowing that their genius leader hid it in the gas tank all along, right under their noses. That guy!

The thing Trump doesn't get with the oil prices is that a huge portion of good paying jobs in deplorable country are oilfield and related jobs. The massive decline in prices haven't hit the industry too hard yet because most companies use futures to hedge price a certain distance out. But trust me if oil stays in the sub 50 range for long there will be a massive constriction in that industry and all the oilfield bros won't be able to afford their car payments on their coal-rolling monster trucks anymore.

In other words like everything he doesn't understand basic cause and effect and that low oil prices are likely to hurt the very people he desperately needs to turn out in high numbers in 2020.

Teeechnically it means you're no longer accountable for Adam and Eve's deeds, I'm pretty sure.

I seem to remember there being some extreme weirdness around becoming the Virgin Islands GOP head honcho a few years ago. Like, someone was more or less openly planning to buy the position or something. May have been some other bunch of islands, though.

Met two Mormons in Nice a while back with my sister and gf(separate people), we were walking the same direction. One was from Utah, the other California. Both were pretty nice, had a decent conversation. Neither tried to convert or preach in the 30-45 minutes we talked.

My sister is Mormon. Nicest people you'll meet, they aren't cultish and are humans with faults just like us. Their practices are still odd when it comes to strictly religious practice SHOCKER (I wasn't allowed to go into Temple to see her married) but yes very genuine folks. They **** like rabbits too when they get married, produce big ****ing families.

Let's hear a serious rebuttal. Take Christianity for example, which takes the well known common sense Confucian principle of don't do to other people what they don't want done to them and twists it into the egocentric, immoral principle do to others what you want done to yourself. And that's its strongest claim to a "good idea". Islam teaches no taxation for believers and equality of all believers, but conquer the nonbelievers, which is something like the Republican party platform. Judaism tells us to study a lot and that I'm a Jew but by son isn't because I married an infidel and didn't circumcise him and I violate all sorts of other rules made a long time ago.

All of them (and the rest) promote a self-centered, tribalistic, sectarian worldview that enters naturally into conflict with outsiders and reserves special privileges for followers, and they erect greedy institutions to defend these "good ideas".

And on top of all that there's all this nonsense about deities and afterlife.

FYI there's a whole god damn dedicated sub-forum for this religion stuff.

I stopped reading when you said Christianity had one idea that probably wasn't a good idea. You are exaggerating for effect and sound dumb.
