True story, the guy who rediscovered and wrote about Newton/alchemy was a professor of mine. Took a course on Newton with him (had to read parts of Principia Mathematica and the Optics).

at the top of the ticket you need someone who looks like they could play the role of president on a tv show. this is non-negotiable because the swing states are full of dumb ogres

I recall a defense of Newton's alchemy but don't think anybody ever figured out quite what he was doing? But in any case he was not exactly popular and lectured to empty rooms. Warren is better than Newton in that regard.

Not the biggest factor. Hillary lost because people hated her more than because they hated women. There's no way in hell America has ever been a place where a Black man was more likely to win POTUS than a white woman. Don't get me wrong, being a woman will lose some people's votes, but it's not going to keep someone from winning by itself.
