I'm sorry but who can't scrape up $27.50 to vote? Borrow from your parents if you need to. Sheesh.

Assuming the outgoing (R) state legislatures don't abolish everything on their way out.

I don't know about extreme, and I dunno if they are officially considered white powery or not, but I went to two Pantera concerts in like '92-'93.

Spoiler:
meshuga is yiddish for crazy - which is why I was asking for Howard Beale for the icwydt. I figure he would get that.

Guys American democracy is drawing to a coup by generals/the CIA.

Edit: add scientists and national park Twitter handlers

This was the moment of truth for all the "take Trump seriously, not literally" and "he just wants to be a Good President with a Good Legacy" and "a pivot is coming" morons. Turns out Trump is what we thought he was, an authoritarian.
people need to wake up and realize this isn't even about left, right, or center anymore. this is about fascism straight up destroying our democracy.

That golfer story is really something. On the continuum of "Engaging in pretence to win over the rubes vs. Actually unmoored from reality" this is further in the direction of the latter than even I expected. The idea of him dropping that story in the presence of the most senior members of Congress is an arresting image.

The registered in two states is because there is no national voter registry so you can be registered in one state, move, and then register in another state. You're supposed to contact the previous state and notify them to take you them off the rolls, but voting registration is probably low on a mover's priority. So the evidence of voter fraud is just the process issues of having 50 different voter registries.

Seemed anti-racist anyway. They had some personel change and maybe that changed things.

A long time ago the skinheads were divided between racist and not racist.

For example:

Now Gwen Stephani probably didn't count as a skinhead and I don't know anything about The Vandals who wrote this song, but the song is about anti-racist skinheads.

Anyway, I'm not an expert or anything, but I had a friend in the 80s who was a mod and, at least in the Bay Area, there were skinheads and racist skinheads. Sometime later it seems like that wasn't true and it was 100% racist.

Does Trump have the authority to deny sanctuary cities federal funds?

Years from now I think American journalism will be the sleeping giant that Trump will regret waking up. A lot of press has been soft for too long but the capacity is definitely still there. They've been able to coast for years and get by on Kardashian stories and puff pieces, but now they're actually being challenged daily to produce real journalism and defend it against direct attacks by the President and a lot of the population.

And while I can't back this up at the moment, my sense is more people are following along with what's actually happening in government. Even though some choose not to care I think more eyes on events is a net positive.

Are any well known Republicans at all going to go on the record against this un-American bull****?

The pre-Trump precedent is that he could withhold grants related to immigration like law enforcement but not other kinds of funding.

McCain said we aren't going to torture people. I guess that sorta counts.

Yeah. Pantera were not actually a white power band. Anselmo is some sort of racist though. His behavior around race is erratic, sometimes he appears racist and sometimes not. I suspect he's the sort of racist/white nationalist who nonetheless doesn't hate other races and respects certain members of them.

Edit: Like, apparently "Mouth for War" is about some black boxer. But then in a video by Machine Head's frontman Rob Flynn calling Anselmo out for the White Power incident, he alleged that Anselmo once said to him that he hated Machine Head's "n-word period", referring to their brief experiment with nu-metal back when that was a thing. So, yeah.
