Re: The Presidency of Donald J. Trump

Who said the good ol days? Why is working class a synonym for white with you? Dems used to be big pro labor, that’s where they need to be.

Re: The Presidency of Donald J. Trump

Actually, you are the one assuming working class means white. Dems already crush the nonwhite working class. The working class people you are trying to convert thought restricting immigration was the most important issue in the last election.

You don't have to make a single mention of the good old days to passionately and sincerely advocate for an increased role for unions in the workplace.

It almost seems like you do. It was literally the first thing you did when describing the strategy!

I know the answer is no but did anyone bother to ask why his signature changed as well?

We don't need to "convert" any Trump voters. Not a single one. If they want to convert on their own, fine. We'll take them. But zero effort should be put forth attracting Trump voters.

Getting people who don't vote to start showing up for the D side would be helpful, but that would require that Ds advocate for things that are actually in their interests, and not someone else's.

The only democrat in recent history to do that in large numbers was Obama. But you guys prob want to throw him out with the Cintons. I think Reaganizing him would be a better move.

Re: The Presidency of Donald J. Trump

I don't worry about the people who are persuaded by the R's rhetoric because not a single one of them will convert, barring a religious experience.

People in WI, MI, PA, and MN (seriously, this state is starting to look mighty shaky for the Dems) have different interests and needs than Dem constituencies in other states. Votes can be earned without pandering to a single deplorable and you aren't going to lose a single black vote advocating for unions unless the unions themselves are permitted to be cesspools of racism.

I would not lump Obama in with the Clintons, and would concede that Obama could be a very effective advocate going forward if that's what he chooses to do.

He promised to speak up if DACA registrants were targeted for deportation and then did not do so once that came to pass, so please excuse me if I won't hold my breath waiting on him to keep his promises or do anything that would help the Dems extract themselves from the terrible position they find themselves in today.

I think democrats largely know what they are doing, which is why it’s not at all the things people here advocate.

I know nothing about slurred speech, but it did sound a lot like Lou Holtz, which means it could be because of dentures. Or because he's extremely stupid and old.

Slurring your speech is like the exact opposite of what happens when you have a dry throat. These lazy ****s can't be bothered to put even a little bit of effort into their lies.

Obama had to deal w/ 8-10 years of half the country rooting for him to fail. I'm surprised he doesn't go buy an island in the Mediterranean and tell the GOP to **** off.

Seriously though, I think he's waiting. There's no point to doing anything right now. I bet next September/October he starts becoming vocal. Or waits til 2020 election.

And ex-presidents always keep a low profile in the first year or two after they leave office. It was never realistic to expect Obama to immediately start flaming Trump.

You can be pro-working class, but organized labor is never going to return to its heyday this country.

Trump and his conspirators are close friends with the National Enquirer bunch. We'll see Clinton stories literally forever, just like how Elvis stories stills sell to these morons.

Yep. The Enquirer will treat us to Clinton death watches at least until they both die, and probably for ten years after that.

That’s another difficulty with the strategy. Being pro immigration turns off a lot of the people your labor pitch is designed for.
