I mean, it's not even that her reporting is even inaccurate here. The issue is that she's alluding to things that are not in evidence and asking her audience to wink-wink-nudge-nudge draw a conclusion from it. It's, at best, sloppy journalism.
Yes the GOP/FNC are better at that sort of thing, but they are equally good at firing up their minions when a report from someone like Maddow turns out to be a dud, and in doing so damage her credibility. Remember the fiasco with Trump's tax return? It plays right into their hands and is easily avoidable, especially with all the legitimately awful **** Trump and his staff do on an hourly basis.
