Lately , SM has been in an uproar over the 3 Christmas controversies as the “ media “ reports them. The offensive song thing , the Santa gender thing and the MXMAS vs Happy Holidays thing? Is this all media fabricated to upset people and create ratings ? Ask yourself , do I even know anyone that thinks Santa needs to be gender neutral or that thinks that song is offensive? I don’t and just because they have people say it on the news , it doesn’t mean it’s real.

Most Christians are narcissists and narcs always have to insist they're the real victim here and everyone's against them. blah blah blah. They will make **** up to fuel it.

They all got super pissed when someone said something that wasn't merry christmas to them once, despite every store having a **** ton of decorations for it and I almost never see any of the other ones.

Very tired of Christians playing the "it's not Christian, it's just a pagan tree, don't discriminate on my religious beliefs" nonsense.

A wise thing to do with any political discourse it to assess the source.

Is it a pundit, blog, social media persona / group? Not all pundits are equal, but chances are ad money plays a big part. If you disagree with them, the best thing do it is to ignore it. Even views given because you disagree with it, comments left because you object to it or downvotes will give them traffic which in turn gives them money.

Is it a politician , political group or lobbying group? Again, not all are equal, but chances is that it is just a publicity stunt to rally or reign in the base. Objections and debates can be good, but extremely negative reactions plays into their script perfectly. You'll look like the bogeyman to the base they are trying to wind up.

Always be on the lookout for fake or ulterior pages that use popular debates that get people fired up for more nefarious purposes. We aren't necessarily talking about Russian counter-intelligence operations, but there are hundreds of thousands of networks out there that are using things like these to mine people's political affiliations, personal preferences, browsing habits and personal data. They'll then sell these to corporations / political campaign machines and so forth.
