I do think sharp political news readers are getting slightly immune to the stupidity. Oh, he spent his weekend tweet rambling @ Hillary Clinton? zzzz, yawn, whatever, same old Trump.

I think in the end these lulls are bad. He's sort of normalized what would have been exceptional, disqualifying idiocy in less than a year. Rule Number Whatever of those former Russian and Soviet exiles who wrote articles about how Americans should handle Trump was always "do not be taken in by small signs of normality."

Trump can probably go away or be normal for a while. He will then hunger for the spotlight, or need it to distract from his next scam or crime or horrible policy everyone hates. His older tactics won't work, but the show has to go on.

So he might turn to more extreme tactics. That I am not looking forward to.
