I want McCain to cast the deciding vote to convict Orange of Impeachment.

The people currently occupying the White House are some of the worst humans this country has to offer that are not currently on death row or in maximum security prisons.

I seriously do not understand how the banality of awvals of this country think this sort of thing just gets washed away.

Consider different thoughts and evaluate:

1. In the grand scheme of things where nuclear war and run away climate change are possibilities things like the above are not relatively important. I wish people would focus on issues that are important when deciding who should represent them.

2. Important issues are boring and/or people are not good judges of them. The best we can do is get people who aren't obvious *******s and hope that translates to doing the right thing on important issues. Perhaps we'd be better off if we looked less at issues and more at character.

It's still close. If someone predicted the outcome of a sporting match by saying the odds of winning were 50.8/49.2 you wouldn't say "that first team must be way better." From there it doesn't really matter if you compare Trump to HRC or HRC to Trump. If you're using their popular vote totals to compare the candidates, the conclusion must be that their value is close. Arguing that HRC must be way better because 3M votes (a number with no relative context) is a dishonest use of statistics.
It's not close if those two teams play 139 million matches and you are trying to predict which team is going to win more often.

I don't necessarily chalk this up to some kind of 4D chess media manipulation, but it is pretty stunning that four soldiers being killed in Niger, a country that one in a thousand Americans could identify on a map, in operations that are completely undisclosed, in pursuance of goals that are entirely unacknowledged and unexplained, has gotten derailed into a conversation about Obama (?!) and discussions of Trump's lack of character. I would say a far more pressing question is what are U.S. troops doing in Niger?

Fighting ISIS? I don't think that's really an unacknowledged secret.

You could ask that about dozens of countries. Starting with Cuba.

Maybe I'm just uninformed, but it seems very surprising to me that we have combat troops in Niger fighting ISIS. When did this start?

This dumbass derail needs to come to a close. You're framing the margin of victory in the way that seems least severe (49.2%, it's essentially 50/50!), he's framing the margin of victory to seem most severe (t-h-r-e-e M-I-L-L-I-O-N A-m-e-r-i-c-a-n-s!). The end, just ****ty frame jobs clashing.

I'd be interested in a detailed breakdown of the original rationale of the electoral college. Any good reads?

Theres three or four Federalist Papers that specifically deal with it.

But even Madison said that it was mainly because they were unable to do a straight popular vote because of the whole slaves can't vote situation.
