That's not exactly how it works.

Trespassing is what you're charged with in GA too, however you can only be charged with trespassing if you're confronted by the owner or an agent of the owner and asked to leave the premises and refuse.

It's not as though they can arrest you for printing.

This person seems to feel that I'm leveling them a bit. Just wanted to post here to not only show that this was common practice, but also discuss some etiquette on how to approach individuals at a gun show and attempt to barter with them.

Thoughts?
Private sales are 100% legal and normal. If you see someone carrying around a gun or case they are usually selling something, most of them will have a sign with a description taped to the case or around their neck. Private sal are not subject to Brady background checks but many people will want to see an in state drivers license and or a carry permit some will want a bill of sale.

Reasons I can guess but don't know what's really decisive:

*Cheap. It's what they have.

*The technique. Some guys dangle the barrel and place it for sure for sure. But I see other guys aiming like it's a duck.

*Reliability. But only the bolt action boys. But other guys use autos, so still no consensus. Except rifles. They all use rifles.

*Safety. But I doubt it.
Acuracy, stopping power , availability, and hunting laws come to mind.

I LOL'd id say if you aren't fixed on getting a pistol buy a Maverick 88 shotgun. it is black cheap and makes big holes. For bonus point try to buy one through private sale via the "gunshow loophole" http://www.tombstonetactical.com/cat...5in-5rd-black/

That's the shotgun I have I think. Only mine is like a 23 or 24 inch barrel I think. It's for home defense and it's wayyyy too ****ing big. I'm gonna get a pistol eventually but I'm thinking I might try to trade it for one.

You can buy the 18.5" bbl relatively cheaply.

Also, all accessories for the Mossberg 500 platform will mount right onto your M88.
05-18-2012 , 03:36 PM
****, more like 28 ****ing inch barrel

confirmed model 88 imo

I've fired it a total of two times and have owned it maybe four years. How much is it worth iyo?

larva,

i'd recommend looking at H&R Pardner Pump

18.5" 12gauge, remington 870 clone all mods for 870 work for it and it's really cheap like $145.00
05-18-2012 , 03:47 PM
think I paid like 185 for mine at academy iirc
05-18-2012 , 03:49 PM
FFS LirvA, google Kel-Tec KSG

I don't think that's the greatest idea in this case.

you think people would trade a 18.5 inch barrel for a 28 incher?

come on! 28 inches!
05-19-2012 , 07:18 AM
It's a possibility.

Basically you'd be looking for someone with a home defense shotgun looking to turn it into a sporting shotgun.

You're going against the market though, since most people looking for a hunting shotgun are quite often going to go with a model other than the 500/88 platform.

I'm not a big shotgun hunter but the shotgun hunters I know almost all use autoloaders instead of pumps, and the ones that do use pumps are either going to want a classic styled one with the wood stock and pump or they're going to want one completely "Mossy Oak'd" out.

Like I said, it's a possibility, but right now you have a hunting barrel that isn't very popular and you're attempting to trade it for a HD barrel that is one of the most popular HD models on the market right now.

I could prob get a 18.5 used for under a hundo couldn't I?
05-19-2012 , 08:35 AM
so apparently in my area of NY it takes 6 months to get a pistol permit.

i had thought that this permit was a LTCF but it is NOT, all it does is let you own and bring to the range/hunting (can't stop for gas along the way even)

apparently they almost never ever ever give full carry licenses to regular people like me.

i cannot wait for the current crop of cases to get through the courts so hopefully some of this stuff gets over turned.

They are going to loose in court very soon but it will still be years before NYC gets inline with constitution and reality.

not NYC unfortunately.

i think the NYC outright ban on handgun ownership will get taken down way before what my county is doing wrt carrying.
