I'm not hung up on one type of gun. I love the .22's for the price to shoot.

For handgunes I have a Browning Buckmark, S&W 22A, ISSC M22 and Heritage Rough Rider all in .22, S&W 638 and Rossi .38 Special, S&W Model 19 .357, Springfield XDM and S&W 910 in 9mm, Rock Island 1911 .45, Bersa Thunder 380 and S&W Bodyguard 380.

For long guns I have the Spike's Tactical AR15 5.56, S&W M&P 15-22, Savage 30-06, Mosin Nagant M91/30 and numerous .22 rifles in lever, pump, semi and bolt.

Wow, listing it out like this makes it look a bit crazy, but fun.
Nice collection. I'm fond of the S&W 638.

Worst anti-gun argument ever.

Link.

It comes from an organization called Violence Policy Center.

I don't know if anyone is familiar with these people, but they seem to have the lowest ratings I've ever seen on YouTube. Most gun debate material on YouTube usually ranges in the 40-50% dislike range, whether it's pro or anti gun. These people don't have a video with less than 90% dislike, with several at a 98% dislike ranking. Here's a personal favorite of mine.

Nuts.

"AK-47? Yeah I heard of em. Them's those cop killin guns."

Now damnit, I had JUST decided to stop playing counter strike and play some play money poker, but now I want to play counter strike again.

Good reading on the real life effectiveness of full auto AK's

LAPD North Hollywood Bank Of America Robbery

Ya I've made this point several times in the gun control treads, vs the ZOMG FULL AUTO DEATH MACINES idiots. 1 guy in Norway kills 62 and injures a few more with ranch rifle and a glock using around 180 rounds. 2 guys in full body armor an full auto kill no one with 2k rounds. But yeah hi cap mags and full auto are dangerous.

Who has two thumbs and is getting hooked up with a 3 day small size class with Chris Costa?

I do agree but your argument isn't very strong.

That example alone? Yeah sure but when you back those two anecdotes up with years of military and other knowledge argument is pretty much over. Your welcome to talk about it in the gun control thread, I'm more interested in gun ppls ideas than people who don't even understand where a magazine goes.

Yea just referring to that one argument. I totally agree with your premis.

Thanks, I just got the 638 and shot it for the first time today at the range. I really like it. I read that the recoil might be too much because of it being an airweight, but I didn't have a problem with it. Great trigger in both DA and SA.

were you shooting just regular .38s in it? Recoil is massively more in .357. I generally like .38 or .38 +p in an snubby.

The 638 is a .38s, not a .357 and is rated for +p, but I just shot regular .38 in it. I'll have to get some +p to bring to the range next trip.

and the retort is " sure but all the feds switched to sigs, m&ps, or back to high end 1911s because they got sick of those pieces of crap... now what?"
04-25-2012 , 11:00 PM
Feds carry Sigs by policy and GLOCK by choice.

I prefer not to need 8 magazines personally.
04-25-2012 , 11:24 PM
dude... no the Sig is a finished firearm incredibly accurate easy to use and with the same capacity and flawless reliability of any modern pistol. The Glock is an unfinished experiment in gun design, ground breaking and amazing but unfinished, others have taken what they did and made it better. Glocks are the missing link I grant you that.

but whatever man different strokes.
04-25-2012 , 11:34 PM
What it really boils down to seriously is that once you're trained (and I mean thoroughly trained over many years) with nothing but a GLOCK nothing else feels right.

That's one of their biggest selling secrets.

You go to a PD, go through the Academy, start shooting that GLOCK then train with it for 4-5 years, Sig/1911's/XD's (anything you say has a "good grip angle") feels awkward and weird.

The only thing I've ever shot that was close enough to my GLOCK to be comfortable was an H&K and that's too ****ing big.

I'm not saying that you should change since you started there, I'm saying its nowhere near the best choice, similarly I wouldn't really recommend someone go the 1911 route even though I am totally reliant on them.
