You can get AK magazines that are less than 30 rounds (i have a 5 rounder, for example)

That doesn't change the fact that AK-47's are prohibited in Canada.

ya my point was that the reasons AK 47s are prohibited isn't because of the capacity of the mags.

Get a shotgun. Everyone should own a shotgun.
12-14-2009 , 06:30 PM
why not own a gun? It's highly likely that the U.S economy will be going down the drain in the next couple of years which means more crime rate/ civil unrest, so it will be a smart choice to own a gun. I want some security and protection especially since I have some silver/gold lying around in my house.

Plus, it's our duty as good American citizens to own guns.

For home defense, get a shotgun. Mossberg 500 and Remington 870 are the 2 most popular models. Go to a gun store, hold each of them, shoot them if you can. Either one is a great gun.

I really need to stop posting while drunk (or at least keep them contained in the drunk thread). I quoted the wrong post above.

ugh. unless you broadcast it to the world no one will no you have gold or silver. The correlation between crime and economic hard times in USA has been weak in recent years. accidental gun deaths + people who are more likely to see danger all around them are more likely to willingly harm someone they mistake for a threat.

There are good reasons to own guns, but none of the quoted are remotely close.

Wanting security and protection isn't a good enough reason?

I did graduate college as a Jedi Knight....

True story.

chucky obviously does not understand English. I said I wanted a gun for security/ protection, ESPECIALLY because I have PMs in my house, not BECAUSe I have PMs in my house. Either that or he just likes to play god in other people's lives by telling them which reasons for owning a gun are valid.

your condescending tone makes you sound like a complete douchebag. And where are you getting your statistics from? sounds like complete bs to me.

"but none of the reasons are remotely close".. So are you now the expert on determining reasons for owning a gun? gtfo

How can I legally facilitate the transportation of numerous firearms from Texas to California? Can I have a few firearms delivered through some sort of postal service? What about driving them myself? I would like to have a few sent without having to go to Texas and I imagine logistically it would be easier if I moved the bulk of them myself.

Just to warn you, CA has a 10 round limit on all magazines. Other than that, I think if you keep them unloaded and locked up, and out of reach of the driver, it's fine to just move them yourself.*

*I'm not sure about this, you should def confirm elsewhere.

This post is kind of funny in a way. You are moving from one of the most gun friendly states in the US to argueably the WORST gun state.

No mags over 10 rds, no bayonet lugs, and IIRC Cali only allows certain handguns to be owned(some brands are more evil ldo) and I'm pretty sure you have to register them.

Im kindof out of the gun world loop nowadays, but I think Cali pretty much has the pre 2004 AWB intact permanently, but with even worse restrictions.

You can go to the bar, get drunk, go to a motel with a bar scag drive her to her drug dealer's house, and then go back home and you know what? Those people will still be arguing 9mm vs. .45ACP.
LOL. You must frequent a lot of the same forums I used to frequent.

But you forgot the "ZOMG .40 S&W!! Best of both worlds!!" crowd.

Buy "Boston's Gun Bible" first, you won't regret it.
