Damn, Maddow just throwing fast balls at Ryan's head in opening segment.

No way he runs in 2020. He won’t challenge Trump and i don’t see trump voluntarily stepping aside. Trump involuntarily shoved aside isn’t a case where he’s going to want to run either.

2024 seems very likely at this point, imo.

Nah it's on to 20 years of cushy lobbyist gigs.

ARE YOU ****ING KIDDING ME

Yeah, the model here is David Vitter or whoever. Zero chance Paul Ryan risks a cent of that sweet lobbying cash by making waves now. This isn't the end for him, it's the end goal. He got them their tax cut, now it's time to get paid (and they'll never owe him more than they do right now).

So (nearly) everything Paul Ryan said about debt and deficits was a lie?

I am sad.

Everyone who ever believed him deserves much worse than sadness, and the worst ****ing thing is that Ryan being insincere about deficits is like the 18th most objectionable thing about him!

Deficits aren't that bad! Poverty is bad, and he's objectively and sincerely been an outspoken pro-misery advocate his entire career.

It is pretty clear at this point in time that Ryan is a dyed-in-the-wool deplorable who has always hated poor people and old people and immigrants beyond comprehension.

I was merely pointing out that Ryan colored his deplorableness in deficit hawkishness so as to "camouflage" his true beliefs.

Now that everyone sees the true Paul Ryan for what he is and has always been, I wonder how many right-wingers are surprised.

My guess is zero.

For real.

We're talking about a guy who has espoused respect and adoration for Ayn Rand ffs.

Um he also spent six or seven years talking about how bad Obamacare was and how badly repeal was needed so that a much better plan could be put in to replace it.

And newsflash, that was a lie too. Who woulda thunk it?

Spoiler:
I mean, except for everyone.

He fired the House priest.

Because he prayed for the poor.
04-27-2018 , 12:18 PM
Yea if constantly pretending to care about the poor while proposing policies that would devastate them didn't break through the wonk delusion of Paul Ryan Wonk Who Cares, firing a priest for mentioning the poor might do it.
04-27-2018 , 03:20 PM
Was Ryan fearful that God might have heard the priest's prayer and worked His magic to change votes on the massive tax cut package that gave tax cuts to the wealthy and corporations?
03-19-2019 , 12:49 PM
Congratulations to PRINCIPLED CONSERVATIVE Paul Ryan on being appointed to the Fox Corporation board of directors!
03-19-2019 , 01:21 PM
lolololololol it's just so out in the open, good lord
03-19-2019 , 04:33 PM
Sweet $300k/year gig. I'm sure Ryan's experience and thoughtfulness totally justifies it.
03-20-2019 , 08:09 AM
just wanted to pop in here and fail to express how much i completely ****ing hate paul ryan
03-20-2019 , 09:02 AM
Chiefsplanet is furious at this, so I think I like it. He might steer Fox News back to the genteel Romney/Ryan school of grifting and away from the full-on white nationalism.
03-20-2019 , 11:50 AM
Tbh this is a weird move for someone who almost certainly has political aspirations post trump but I guess grifters gotta grift?
