I think the yootoobz thing is interesting because it speaks to the inability or unwillingness of these people to imagine the world from another person's point of view. Like if I was a right-winger and I was going to post yootoobz like that, I would think "are any of these people actually going to watch this?" then I'd think "if they sent me political yootoobz on their ideas, would I watch them?" to which the answer is obviously "no", and then I wouldn't post them. But, that's why I'm not a right-winger.

The problem with youtube, is that as soon as you watch one ideological video, your entire suggested next watch list fills up with others. Would be thoughtful to mix both sides in the suggestion list, but I guess algorithms can't handle that.

The Economist wrote an article accurately calling Ben Shapiro a 'sage of the alt-right', he pissed his pants about it because he says he doesn't like the alt-right and they immediately retracted the article and issued a grovelling correction. Because it doesn't matter if you believe all the same things as the alt-right, share their memes, go on their podcasts, and inspire their terrorist attacks, as long as you say 'nuh-uh i'm not tho'
