Did you ever meet a full professor who wasn’t actually a recognized expert in their own field? That was the (bizarre) claim made. When I looked him up I thought he would be some Mickey Mouse Sklansky style “expert” who we could all laugh at. Not someone who left an assistant professorship at Harvard for a full professorship at another school.

It's actually pretty fascinating. This whole neo-reactionary internet social movement, which has tendrils in MRAs, Gamergate, the alt-right, the IDW, the_donald, etc. has this fascinating mix of extreme arrogance but also absolutely mind-boggling subservience to those they see as superior.

Like they'll doubt climate change as a hoax and dismiss entire fields of study as SJW soft science nonsense, but they ****ing WORSHIP these total frauds like Shapiro, Harris, Peterson, etc.
