Official "Intellectual Dork Web" Fanboi Containment Thread Official "Intellectual Dork Web" Fanboi Containment Thread

It's high-brow entertaining, I think, but varies from episode to episode. For example, there was an older episode (premium) episode where they talked about how Kitchen Nightmares is actually extremely left-wing, which was exceptionally entertaining, and then there are episodes like this one (interview with a guy who has a podcast called "Working People" where he just talks to working-class people about their lives and stuff) which isn't funny, but I'd still call entertaining in that it's an interesting conversation to listen to.

Then some of their episodes are a bit dry and more on the educational side, for example interviewing Noam Chomsky or asking a couple economists "so wtf is MMT".

Looks like my last two bumps of the FREEZE PEACH threads didn't really get views so **** it, we'll do it here:

Two University of Arizona students are being charged for protesting border patrol agent's appearance on campus

Quote:
Now, two students at the University of Arizona who protested Border Patrol agents at a campus event on March 19 are going to face criminal charges, the university’s president said.

“The student club and the CBP officers invited by the students should have been able to hold their meeting without disruption,” University of Arizona President Robert C. Robbins wrote in a letter to the campus community on Friday. “Student protest is protected by our support for free speech, but disruption is not.”
Looking forward to the IDW jumping to the defense of these students for having their FREEZE PEACH RIGHTS stomped on

I had never heard of MMT. Reading about it, it shines some light on why the Chapo guys are always claiming that deficits are completely irrelevant.

I read some of a fight between Stephanie Kelton (an MMT proponent) and Paul Krugman (a classical Keynesian), but it's over my head. Do you remember who they had on the podcast? Apparently some guy at the University of Adelaide is a proponent.
