Who do you think disagrees with the notion that people who consider themselves "fans" of Tucker Carlson wouldn't give two ****s about any outrageous thing he says?

The folks arguing with me?

Nah, that's just the strawman you invent so you can look like you're making valid and necessary points. Let's look at what the people actually arguing with you were actually saying, before you felt the need to jump in with your usual bull****:

They must think viewers at least have the potential to be turned off by his past comments and lack of contrition now.

Only you could look at these posts and think "yeah, someone really needs to jump in and set these people straight that #actually his fans won't be bothered by this". uDevil comes closest but even he is only suggesting that the corporate overlords might get worried by Tarlson's statements (as they should, he's lost a couple advertisers already!).

And I was replying to uDevil. **** off.

I might need setting straight, actually. Because keed just seems to be doing a very long winded version of "nothing matters" and waaf. Which isn't true.

If this country gets set on the right course it for sure won't be because people managed to dig up enough decade old Love Sponge audio tapes on enough right wing personalities. Let's say Carlson gets fired. Does that actually do any good? What does it actually accomplish?
03-12-2019 , 01:41 AM
Yup you were right it is a nothing matters stop whining rabbit hole.

They just want him to go away.
Wer are talking about a group of followers who threw DA Roy Moorer to date their 14 year old daughters and they would be made proud. He will not be fired.

Haven't seen any of today's audio batch posted about: Tucker unplugged, v2.0!

Quote:
In 2008, Carlson lamented that “everyone’s embarrassed to be a white man,” before stating that white men deserve credit for “creating civilization and stuff.”

In another instance, Carlson is heard saying that Iraq is a “crappy place filled with a bunch of, you know, semiliterate primitive monkeys,” adding, “That’s why it wasn’t worth invading.” That follows a 2006 segment on the show in which Carlson said he had “zero sympathy” for Iraqi people and their culture because they “don’t use toilet paper or forks.”

“They’re just so awful. Just awful,” Carlson said.

A co-host on the show replies: “They’re animals, dude. They are."

In what appears to be commentary on when the United States should remove troops from Iraq, Carlson says, “The second we, I mean they, can just shut the f--- up and obey, is my view.”

“The second we leave, they’re going to be calling for us to return because they can’t govern themselves,” he adds.

In March 2006, Carlson spoke about his desire for a presidential candidate to blame the “lunatic Muslims who are behaving like animals.” That candidate would be “elected king” if they vowed to “kill as many of them as [they] can,” Carlson added.
The obviously racist stuff aside, "white men created civilization" is quite an interesting take on ancient history
03-12-2019 , 01:57 AM
See him being to dumb to know where the cradle of civilizations is makes me dislike him more.

That last part might get him booted. Doubt it because its just genocideing Muslims, but it might.

The real outrage should be at fox for employing him. Tuck is in more ways then one just a tool.

So I guess the question is whether Fox thinks they can find somebody white supremacist enough to replace Tucker Carlson and yet not quite white supremacist enough to openly advocate genocide?

The real question they'll ask in the secret meeting with just a few executives is how much money they'd lose by dialing the white supremacy down to levels below Tucker Carlson levels.

Keeed is actually right, to an extent. Tucker Carlson is who he is. We know who he is and they know who he is. They pretend he's something else, and this pokes some glaring holes in what they pretend he is... But, speaking for myself, it's hard for me to be any more outraged over this piece of **** than I was 48 hours ago when I knew he was a racist and a sexist and a disingenuous flame throwing bull**** artist raking in millions of dollars while knowingly ripping apart the fabric of our democracy.

On a scale of 1-10 my outrage at Tucker Carlson was already at about a 15. Can I take it to a 16? Can I distinguish? No, not really. I guess the best way to describe it is that my outrage cannot go any deeper, but it can go wider. So now it's more broad, and just as deep, which means that the volume of outrage is bigger... but the intensity is the same.

And I don't really think he's going to get fired, either. For what? Saying the quiet parts out loud about killing brown people? That's red meat for his viewers. What do you think they talk about after a few beers when it's just a few friends around?

Best case, Fox will make him issue some sort of mealy mouthed apology for some of this stuff, and Fox News viewers will wink and nod knowingly. He'll lose a few sponsors for a little while, but his ratings won't go anywhere and they'll come back.

I still say someone should burn his empty house down. It's the only way he'll learn.

I’m more pissed at MSNBC employing him even after he called Iraqis monkeys or whatever. Gotta make sure bigots have a say on your network no matter what.

Has a single person heard these comments and changed his mind about Tucker Carlson? Seems unlikely.
I saw the "no one really cares about child brides" take on twitter, which was expected, but I did not expect to see it here, wtf.

That's where I came in.

On the other hand, if Carlson goes away, that's good too. At least we know there's a line somewhere.
03-12-2019 , 04:48 PM
The only way Carlson goes away if if his advertisers go away.
03-12-2019 , 10:08 PM

Awww Tucker is taking a little vacay.
03-12-2019 , 10:25 PM
Huh. That's weird. I was assured such a thing could not happen.

Makes conservatives cloak their prejudices with more creative language.

I feel like he's just lying low for a news cycle or two for the heat to die down and then it will be business as usual. Will be very happy if I'm wrong.
