Piers Morgan signs off for the last time with a plea for greater gun control. Don Lemon, Jake Tapper, Michael Smerconish and Bill Weir are thought to be auditioning for the job. Larry King's corpse might bring in higher ratings.

Fox News standard blonde talking head this morning on the Ft Hood shooting: There are strict regulations regarding the carrying of firearms on military bases. You have to wonder whether this might have turned out differently had those soldiers been allowed to carry firearms to defend themselves.

FOX should listen to the generals on the ground. The US Army has a few hundred years of experience handling operational security. If they don't want ppl on base carrying weapons, there's probably a good reason, and it's not because the Army has a liberal agenda.

Last night my xbox one somehow interpreted something a podcast I was playing as "xbox watch fox news", which was interesting, but when I switched over to watch TV there it was, and the above is what I saw. Less than 8 hours after people were murdered by crazy person with a guy they were advocating MOAR PEOPLE CARRYING GUNS.

In a study which surprises no one it is revealed that over 50% of the time Fox News lies, with only 8% actual truth in its reporting.

You should probably skip the addicting info garbage and go to the source document.

64% of all threads involving stats lead to someone making up a statistic on what percentage of statistics are made up.

This is the part that addictinginfo (and your post) willfully ignored:

Quote:
The comparisons are interesting, but be cautious about using them to draw broad conclusions. We use our news judgment to pick the facts we’re going to check, so we certainly don’t fact-check everything. And we don’t fact-check the five network groups evenly. CBS, for instance, doesn’t have a cable network equivalent, so we haven’t fact-checked pundits and CBS personalities as much.
I rate both "pants on fire."

So you're suggesting that Politifact has an agenda against Fox News?

From reading the article it seems clear they're saying that all of them are bad to some degree. Fox is just the worst.
07-10-2014 , 03:44 PM
Reading is hard.
07-10-2014 , 03:50 PM
Understanding your attempts at being coy certainly is.

I mean, if you're trying to say that no conclusions may be drawn because every single fact presented on all cable news networks wasn't checked, then say so.

Here's a link to the full text of their Scorecard explanation

But who will factcheck the factcheckers?

These are the questions we need answered

its not that 'every' fact wasn't checked. it's that they cherry picked 80 facts over a period of 3 years. they used their admittedly arbitrary criteria of presumably the most provocative statements they heard.

Perhaps the conclusion could have been "fact checkers only find 80 facts worth checking over a 3 year span". that's like 1 thing every 2 weeks. Even if they had all been lies, if you tell me there's 1 lie told on a news channel every 2 weeks, that's not particularly troublesome, and actually sounds more accurate than I would expect.
