What's Colbert's endgame with this? Is this a litmus test to see how much these ads will affect the voting?

(what this place needs is some new smilies, like 'happy boots' that some other forums have, that's what this place needs)
I largely agree about Morgan. I agree about
Hannity view point being limited. But Maddow?? She speaks like her viewers are in the slower half of a fifth grade class.

If there is a point being made its that superPACs are out of control, hence the intro about all the out of state sPAC money being used to back Perry (who isnt even in the race right now). But i dont watch Colbert Report to know if this is expanded in any way on his show.

On the men taking family leave contradiction, yes. I thought calling her out for taking maternity leave entitlement was way off, as it's an UNPAID entitlement afaik.

eta- Therefore not really an entitlement at all

She was arguing that the US is behind the rest of the world in not mandating paid maternity leave. Also I'm sure she got paid. Most companies offer that now.

Amazing piece.

you know, I was going to look it up right after the piece, but then I figured they couldn't possibly have to pay them for 3 months off. I guess I should've looked it up.

Maybe she can have Craig T Nelson on for a cognitive dissonance-off.

California leading the way in socialism:

Quote:
An estimated 13 million California workers who are covered by the SDI program have also been covered for Paid Family Leave insurance benefits as of July 1, 2004.

For California workers covered by State Disability Insurance, Paid Family Leave (PFL) insurance provides up to six weeks of benefits for individuals who must take time off to care for a seriously ill child, spouse, parent, or registered domestic partner, or to bond with a new child.

Aren't we in a recession already?

Haha, they played that Sharpton thing on TDS, that was awesome
08-12-2011 , 05:59 PM
Replacing Uygur with Sharpton is a disaster. Does anyone understand what he's saying more than 20% of the time?
