Rattigan, when he gets on one of his staccato rants is good TV. In moderation though. His latest show is much better that that morning meeting he started with on msnbc, it sucked. Jansing does a fine job in that slot now.

Tried to watch the Ed Show last nite.... fail.

he must bring in a boatload of cash for the airtime they give that blowhard.

I would rather play .02/.04 limit hold'em than watch MSNBC.

There, I said it. No seriously.

MSNBC and Olbermann are reportedly parting ways.

I was watching the show and I freaked out a little bit. Did some research and I guess the MSNBC/Comcast merger went through today...

Also found this

Quote:
On his radio show today, while responding to Jimmy Carter’s claim that Glenn Beck and Fox distort the news, Beck stated that Comcast has marked MSNBC and Keith Olbermann for death. Beck said, “MSNBC is marked for death. Comcast is going to run it like a business…It won’t feature Keith Olbermann and they know that.”
Dude is clairvoyant.

Also,

Quote:
Next up, the conspiracy, “So just like everyone as soon as they start to outlive their usefulness for radicals and revolutionaries, they shoot them in the head, and that’s exactly what’s going to happen to MSNBC, and they’ll offer up a false choice, they’ll say look we’re willing to get rid of MSNBC and you get rid of Fox and we can have real news. Mark my words, that’s that what they’ll say. We’ll get rid of MSNBC, and you get rid of Fox. Yeah, really you’ll do that? You shoot the shows that nobody watches on one that’s marked for death anyway? Well, how big of you. I don’t think so.”

According to the ratings info posted on Drudge today, Olbermann gets MSNBC's highest ratings.

Wow. The same week as the merger goes through?

Does this mean I'm going to have to listen to some ******** meme about corporate media?

Any word on what happened? KO is supposed to be a huge *******, so there could be more to this than just comcast.

Good news, Olbermann isn't helping anyone or anything.

Hopefully all of msnbc will fold and only maddow will find a job elsewhere.

Olberman may have highest ratings on station, but they are the lowest in the time period among CNN, HLN, FOX, CNBC and MSNBC. Figures were posted today (before Olberman announcement) on DrudgeReport.com

If the goal for the new regime is to salvage the reputation of MSNBC beyond "the left's Fox but less effective" then dropping Olbermann seems like the best first step regardless of whether he is their biggest asset or not.

Who else is on the chopping block and will there be a name change?

MSNBC needs to bring back the Michael Savage show imo.

glad to see KO canned - there was just something annoying about watching him - even when he was on ESPN.

just always seemed like a giant douche.

After careful consideration - of about 10 seconds - I've decided that I really don't care about KO leaving MSNBC one iota.

KO should have gone out like Savage did and wished AIDS on Boehner or something.
