That was pretty good.

I thought he could have approached this differently and just pure turned it around on Murdoch and his last Beck parody was a little better, but it was still funny.

It was pretty disgusting to see Beck try and link Soros, a Jew living under Hitler's rule, to the Nazi regime and talk down the fact he has donated over 7 billion dollars to charitable causes including scholarships for blacks in apartheid South Africa, poverty in general and (as noted) democratic movements such as the Rose Revolution.

Do you guys have the equivalent of a knighthood we can petition Obama to bestow upon him? Not only would it be deserved, but extremely hilarious to see Beck's reactions.

MSNBC said Friday that it is suspending “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough for two days after he acknowledged giving eight previously unknown $500 contributions to friends and family members running for state and local offices during his tenure at the network, a violation of parent NBC’s ban on political contributions by employees without specific permission from the network president.

“I recognize that I have a responsibility to honor the guidelines and conditions of my employment, and I regret that I failed to do so in this matter,” Scarborough said in a statement. “I apologize to MSNBC and to anyone who has been negatively affected by my actions,” he said, adding that after he was made aware of some of the contributions, he called MSNBC President Phil Griffin “and agreed with Phil's immediate demand of a two-day suspension without pay.”

Yeah, Beck must know that his viewers are complete idiots. How do you rail on someone for supporting the revolution that freed Czechoslovakia from Communist rule?

(answer: because they only hear "he toppled regimes!" and don't consider that it might have been a good thing)

I don't really know much about the "George Soros is in league with the Devil to overthrow the United States from God Fearing Christian Republicans" meme.

When did Soros become the Republican Boogeyman? Did he cross Ailes or something?

Not to live out an old forum battle, as I know posters like JackWhite don't want to hear bad motivations assigned to the guys he watches on TV, but I mean it's not an accident that, of all the big liberal donors out there, the right managed to put its Sauron-gaze on Soros, a Jewish immigrant who made his money in finance. This rhetoric?:

PAT: That's why they think we have Zionist Masters who call us and coordinate that stuff.

GLENN: Because they do. Because George Soros is on the other end of the Blackberry. That's why.
...not an accident. He's a convenient target.

But I'm still curious when it happened? I only recently noticed over the last couple of months his name pop up a lot in reference to various right wing talking heads. And then last night I saw the Daily Show last night where he played excerpts from the Glenn Beck show. It seemed very bizarre to me especially since I was relatively ignorant of what they were saying about him.

So is this a new thing or has he been a boogeyman for years now?

Years now.

FWIW Beck didn't get all that much attention in my view when he had a CNN show. Since he started appearing on FoxNews with his own show he's gotten a lot more attention. He opposes statism so naturally the statists hate him. You will too after watching a few shows.
11-19-2010 , 06:18 PM
Yeah that's why. Statism.

yeah. I thought that was an odd comment. In what I've seen of him there's plenty to dislike that has nothing to do with statism.

One can readily see that Glenn Beck is the bogeyman while Jay and David Rockefeller are the heroes we should be listening to. I mean we need the FCC to start regulating cable news and censor the stuff that the Senators don't like. And right this has nothing to do with statism.

Glenn Beck: Progressives Continuing Dreams of Their Fathers
Quote:
SEN. JAY ROCKEFELLER, D-W.VA.: I hunger for quality news. I'm tired of the right and the left. There's a little bug inside of me which wants to get the FCC to say to Fox and to MSNBC, "Out, off, end, goodbye." It'd be a big favor to political discourse, our ability to do our work here in Congress, and to the American people, to be able to talk with each other and have some faith in their government and in their — more importantly, in their future.
(END VIDEO CLIP)

BECK: Who is that cute little senator who wants to do America a solid? You are!

I'm sure the best way to restore trust in the government and restore the level of discourse in America is to shut down discourse in America — like it's the media's fault that we have this gigantic debt.
Yes. Yes.

Jay — may I call you "Jay"? — Jay, I think of this as kind of like bank criminals saying, do you know how many banks we could rob in a day if we could just get rid of the police?

You know, Jay, I have a little bug inside of me, too, and it wants to stop control-hungry progressives from running our lives and pushing us into a giant global system of government. You know, the kind of global government that your dad liked so much — oh, David Rockefeller. Oh, miss him. He was a globalist and had a wonderful vision of the future of our world.

I liked his speech to the U.N. where he talked about overpopulation and bemoaned the fact that more infants now survive the birth process. Don't you hate that when your kids survive? He said also more people are living longer.

His solution — let's listen in.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DAVID ROCKEFELLER: The United Nations can and should play an essential role in helping the world find a satisfactory way of stabilizing the world population and stimulating economic development in a manner that is sensitive to religious and moral considerations.

BECK: Pleasant. It's going to be fun.
Tonight, how you can prepare and grab as much control — your control of your own life — so you are not indebted or shall I say enslaved by a very happy big government control freak.
Come on. A lot of work to do.

I'm giving you props just for this phrase. So descriptive.

I'm sure he wasn't frustrated with the 24 hour news cycle and bleating pundits reducing complex political discourse wrought with nuance and far reaching implications into soundbites and boilerplate meant to inflame the uninformed and ideologically blind.

Clearly he's totally in favor of arbitrary censorship. STATISM WOOOOO
11-19-2010 , 10:24 PM
Pretty sure if David Rockefeller could have hooked up miniature gas chambers at the end of dildos he woulda solved India's overpopulation problem lickity split, with half a trimester to go. That is what you're getting at, right? I mean, what Glen's getting at, right? Maybe? Am I close?

Viva Oceania.

I saw the Howard Stern interview she did, and all I can say is this bitch carries multiple personalities. On Stern she was engaging, articulate, and gave a great segment. On her Fox show(s) she becomes uberbitch in staccato tempo to berate and confuse anyone she disagrees with.

There is no question she is smokin, and the set for her show with a glass table accentuates her legs.

Just a quick bit of nittery:

The Rose Revolution was Georgia, I believe.

Czechoslovakia's was the Velvet Revolution.

In the clip he specifically mentions the Velvet Revolution. With his long history of socialist ranting and fear mongering the irony was strong in that moment.
