Well this is interesting... Anyone but Scheer though
02-27-2019 , 05:59 PM
Yeah, but no chance it's anyone but Scheer or Trudeau.

I’m sure it’s like Christmas Day all over again at Stornoway.

If Trudeau gets reelected, we might end up with Conservative leader Doug Ford winning in 2023.

This reminded me of a few days ago, I was scrolling through some old articles on Rob Ford on Torontoist. The article where the Fords’ mom was explaining to Stephen Harper how Rob would get to be PM next in exchange for their support in Toronto (try parsing that) led me to comment that I couldn’t even fathom the chain of events that would land Rob in the PMO.

And here we are.

When Brown resigned and they had to hold a snap leadership convention my thought process was:

Ha ha suck it Tories
Lol nobody's gonna vote for Rob Ford's brother
Oh wait, nobody's gonna vote for Wynn
FML

Still a long way off from Election day.. If Trudeau stays in thr fight I don't think he is exactly done yet.

Can NDP rebound? I can't see voters of them voting Tory so Liberals should still win Quebec pretty easily.

Even assuming Tories sweep Alberta, Manitoba and Regina they still have to make big gains in Ontario.

Should be a minority government either way which might be for the best
02-28-2019 , 01:44 PM
When you listen to Trudeau's reply he never says that never did I try to impact her decision or tell her what to do. Instead he says It was her decision.

I voted for him last election as an Albertan and not again. I despise Scheer but cant vote for Singh.

This should help Scheer in Ontario but I see Quebecers sticking with Trudeau as he was trying to save Quebec jobs

Trudeau stepped on a huge land mine....

Fighting to help a company with such a bad reputation for corruption so he doesn't lose an election looks awful.

Not sure it's large enough though to lose the election this year.

Scheer may not be able to close the deal and bring it home.
02-28-2019 , 02:07 PM
Bah Scheer. This’d be in the bag if they’d elected Chong to lead the party. As it is, Liberal minority here we come.
03-01-2019 , 02:37 AM
Minorty probably for the best.

Hopefully history repeats the Trudeau name..losing his majority humbles him to do better and then goes on to have two more convincing victories

I think there was at least 3-4 other choices that would be in a better spot to defeat Trudeau. It still baffles me why they went with a Junior Harper when the reason Trudeau won was folks were sick of Harper

I miss Harper, dude had 1 minor scandal in like 14 years which was blown out of proportion only because it was the only scandal he had and did a great job with free trade deals.

I hated him as he said they were not going to change the tax structure on Income trusts. Than 2 weeks later announces massive changes to Income Trusts which cost many investors including me. Cancelled my membership and have never voted Conservative since. I may vote for Scheer though

Eh he was pretty terrible in my view like most politicans.

Just how he wanted to cuddle up to China and the US left pretty bad taste in my mouth... Lots of minor scandals that were able to be swept under the rug.

Harper is a sociopathic robot monster.

Wait, ONE? Just off the top of my head, are we no longer classifying stealing $50 million from the treasury to stick a gazebo in your riding a scandal?

Here are 10 Harper scandals. Here are some more: Canada’s Stephen Harper left shaken by scandals
Quote:
Another weakening factor for the governing party: the NDP and the Liberals have been quick to capitalise on the Harper government’s scandals. Chief among them: illegal “robocalls” in Ontario in the 2011 election that misled voters on where to vote (a junior Tory staffer was found guilty) and allegations of fraudulent expense claims by Tory senators that came to light in 2012 (the first criminal trial is set to begin in April). The Tories have also been in the line of opposition fire for underestimating the cost of replacing Canada’s fighter-jet fleet, tainted meat scandals that followed the gutting of Canada’s food-inspection agency, and a dismal environmental record on pollution and climate change.

Jesus.

Trudeau is getting speared by his own cabinet members months before an election.

This is really bad for liberals, they are hand over fist throwing voters over to Scheer.
