I’m so perplexed at this Harris hate having followed his work for a long time. He’s on the same side you as dip****. He just had presidential candidate Andrew Yang on his podcast discussing Universal Basic Income. Harris rails against Trump all the time. Discussing Islamist reform does not make you racist.

So you were totally a hudge SPLC supporter and bigly into anti-hate civil rights activism before this unfortunate event made any future support untenable?

You are talking to people who play connect the dots with these things. Don't overthink their views.

If you side against the SPLC on the Nawaz case, you side with the bigots. Even though the SPLC ultimately agreed to a large payout with a full apology, if you are happy with it, you are "siding with the bigots." If Harris talks to someone like Charles Murray, he's clearly a racist. The actual content of what they discussed is irrelevant.

Assume that they are five and their arguments start to make sense.

Hirsi Ali was not a mistake.

How does that follow from what he posted? You could be a huge supporter of the SPLC and think they completely missed the mark with Nawaz. How are those two positions mutually exclusive?

How does the outcome not support that view?

Harris Barton was a pretty good tackle on the 49ers. I bet Joe Montana and Steve Young were happy to have him manning their blind side. 2x All-Pro and 3x Super Bowl Champion. Best Harris on the offensive line that I've ever heard of.

Possibly, but she has a very strong case in favor of her severe hostility towards Islam.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali-born liberal feminist who fled her home country amid civil war and now works at the Hoover Institution, was also branded an “anti-Muslim extremist” by the SPLC.

Like Nawaz, Ali routinely criticizes inhumane practices that are common in majority-Muslim countries, including female genital mutilation, which she herself was subjected to before fleeing Somalia. The report branded her discussion of such topics “toxic.”
Comments

The inclusion of Nawaz and Ali on the “anti-Muslim extremist field guide” was the subject of criticism by conservative commentators and prompted a petition on Change.org, which drew thousands of signatures.
well sure if you frame it like that

Let's say somebody is largely ignorant of and apathetic towards a very well-respected and influential civil rights organization. Then one day this person hears a thing on the twittertubes from some clown he respects about how this organization has allegedly done a Bad Thing. And now this person decides that this well-respected and influential organization that has done many great things and will likely continue to do future great things is, in fact, irredeemably bad. Based on one story, from one heavily biased source.

What should I make of this person, and the clown he learns things from?

Maybe but it does make you sophomoric and intellectually lazy and dumb. And a little racist.

Your opening salvo itt was a total non-sequitur attack on the SPLC and, uh, Ben Affleck. I had to do a bit of deductive work to make sense of that.

Let me give you a bit of free advice here: asking people to explain obvious things to you when you clearly already know the answer is a pretty obvious tell that you aren't here to engage in a good-faith discussion. I'm not sure who on Reddit told you you could pwn the libs by pretending you were raised by wolves, but it ain't working.

They chopped her clit off when she was a child and murdered the person she made a film with that criticised the treatment of women in Islamic society. She's been brutalized her entire life by a religion she rightly thinks is absurd.

Liberals turning against people like Hirsi Ali is insane to me.

Take a gander at the Early Medieval Period and see how while the Muslims were inventing the modern social welfare state Europe was ****ing around with the wonders of feudalism. Lol, "Islam is incompatible with our Western Values," like, they invented your western values and damn it must be hard to ignore a thousand years of European history that would've been even much more backwards if not for Charlemagne.

I am well aware but this is just the extremely well-dressed version of, "I was mugged by some black dudes when I was young and now I'm racist."

LOL! WTF is going on. I posted in the trump thread after fly and clovis brought up Harris and Murray. Having followed that whole debacle and knowing what Harris position on these matters were, pointed out how FLY was incorrect in his assertions.

Then it seemed others had this weird view of Harris being a racist. The main thing that came to my mind was the Affleck/Harris argument on Islam Maher's show(affleck rumored to be on roids during that for his Batman movie).

I ask those questions because it seems black and white to me. The SPLC lost the lawsuit and apologized, yet FLY says of course i'd bring that up and champstark post some weird gif? I really don't get it.

Have a go at what is wrong with this statement.

Chopped off clits and murder are not the same as getting mugged.
