The arrival day of the Sears catalog was practically a mini Christmas at my home as a kid. There was always the chance that I'd get every toy I circled that year. The possibilities were endless and confidence was high

Susan Rice's son is a college Trumpkin and he got beat up by a girl

Quote:
Rice-Cameron is not just a conservative but the head of the Stanford College Republicans and a proud supporter of President Trump. His ambition is to “Make Stanford Great Again.”
Quote:
Across the country, Rice-Cameron was holding court at an event on the Palo Alto campus celebrating Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Signs displayed Tuesday at a so-called Change My Mind event — regular events designed “to promote conservative viewpoints,” as the group’s treasurer told Fox’s Laura Ingraham last week — proclaimed “Kavanaugh is innocent until proven guilty,” according to the Stanford Daily.
Until now I totally thought "change my mind" was just a meme people used to make fun of dumb conservatives, it's real???

Quote:
One student whose mind was not changed was Melinda Hernandez, a sophomore who became involved in a disagreement with the president of the campus GOP.

The dispute ended at about 1 p.m. on Tuesday when Rice-Cameron called Stanford police to the central university plaza where, he alleged, Hernandez had assaulted him.

Rice-Cameron claimed that Hernandez had shoved him in the chest with her hand, said William Larson, a spokesman for the Stanford University Department of Public Safety. Deputies interviewed both parties, as well as witnesses, and placed the suspect under a “private person arrest” — also known as a citizen’s arrest — and issued her a citation for battery requiring that she appear in court. The case was written up and submitted to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office for review.

Rice-Cameron, who wrote in a message to club members obtained by the Stanford Daily that he was pressing “full charges,” had “no obvious physical injury,” Larson said, and “declined to be evaluated by paramedics.”
And in today's "leftists are crazy people driven by their unhinged emotions and victim complexes" news, let's look at Stanford College Republicans' very measured response:

Quote:
Today, SCR experienced the violent and totalitarian behavior of the unhinged Stanford left,” the organization declared, aping the president’s description of Democrats. Trump, who in 2016 urged his supporters to “knock the crap out of” protesters, has taken to vilifying his opponents as violent and unhinged.
bahahahahahahaha

Look for this guy to be on Tucker Carlson soon:

Quote:
Meanwhile, Fox got ahold of the group’s treasurer, whom the network described as Rice-Cameron’s best friend, and, in a Thursday segment, treated the former diplomat’s son as a martyr for free speech on campus.

Ingraham asked if Rice-Cameron faced “more pushback” as the son of a prominent former Obama administration official. “Perhaps,” answered the friend, Ben Esposito. “But really I think the reason he faces the most pushback, I mean, anywhere is because he’s a conservative on a college campus promoting individual liberty. I mean, every day, you know, it’s very difficult for any student to promote conservatism. Students are expected to conform.”
Liberals playing the victim yet again!

This has gotten very little attention, but Putin is essentially setting himself up to be the head of the Orthodox church, like an eastern Henry VIII. A schism is all but certain:

so we've got a constitutional crisis

in West Virginia, if you remember they are trying to impeach the entire west virginia supreme court because they are dems and legislature is GOP. (okay there is a too much money spending scandal here but let's face it that's what the reasons really are)

Basically the interim people they had gotten to do it won't show up claiming it's unconstitutional basically telling them we say you can't lol suck it conservatards.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...=.ad82bb0cb1e5

So you might be wondering now what? West Virginia currently doesn't know.

I can't get thru the paywall but I read somewhere else that one of the justices was merely "censured" and had to pay back some stuff but the others are still up on the air is that right?

The GOP will win, they always do. And the WVU governor is a Trump clone (failed con man turned hotel owner).

Until Democrats start breaking ****, GOP is going to keep on cheating.

NYT: How new home floor plans reflect our new economic reality

Quote:
Lennar, the nation’s largest homebuilder, is developing more than 300 of the homes in the master-planned community near the Ghost Mall. One of the most popular models? A home-within-a-home concept called Next Gen — basically a house that has an attached one-bedroom suite with an adjoining hotel-room-style door that can open to the main house, but it doesn’t have to.

A saleswoman gave me a tour of a $570,000, three-bedroom “Spanish eclectic”-style Next Gen model. Inside the apartment-like suite, there was a mini version of the main house’s kitchen, minus the huge island but with the same quartz countertops, on-trend gray cabinetry and bold geometric cube tile backsplash. A marketing flyer framed on the small kitchen table touted the potential: “Home office, separate teen suite or a returning college student’s private pad.” Later, she pointed out a two-story home about a block away that recently sold and told me that the buyers moved into it with their aging parents. “It’s whatever you want it to be!” she said.
Quote:
Mr. Jaffe cheerfully talked me through some of the thoughtful design features of Next Gen homes. He even got a bit wistful, telling me how he’d heard from buyers about family dinners with grown children and grandparents being around for milestones like a baby’s first steps. His tone turned matter-of-fact when he got to the somewhat grim economic reality that partly prompted this. “The thing it addressed that is still relevant today is having two homes under one mortgage,” he said.

“You have the aging baby boomer,” Mr. Jaffe said. “And at the same time you’ve got a lot of young adults coming home, out of college. They can’t get a job. They’re back living with Mom and Dad.”

What White People See In Donald Trump; Part of the NYT's Daily Coverage of What White People See In Donald Trump

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/14/u...n-rallies.html

Quote:
Mr. Trump does the four things those voters love, rally attendees said: He wins, regardless of how fungible the definition of winning may be. He takes the fight directly to Democrats, unlike previous Republican presidential candidates who preferred comity over controversy. He does not bow to politically correct culture. And he does not condescend to them.
Quote:
“There is a sense for which someone who’s from Queens can understand people from the South,” Mr. Reed said. “There’s this odd common bond between someone who grew up in Queens and someone who grew up in the rural or the exurban South, that for decades people have looked down their noses at them, and they’re tired of it.”
Quote:
Sharon Hurd didn’t know that President Trump had used the phrase “dumb Southerner” to describe his attorney general, but hearing it didn’t bother her.

that's the point--the impeachment trial was supposed to start today but the judges they appointed to lead that (since they wouldn't let someone be judge of his own impeachment trial) said lol no and didn't show up.

I find that I can't really get into the Halloween spirit if the Christmas decorations aren't up yet.

Is there nothing that won't stop the left's War on Halloween? You might not like it where you come from, but during Halloween Season we say Merry Halloween ALL SEASON LONG. I'm tired of going into stores and seeing signs that say Happy Non Sectarian Hijinks or Candy Day. **** your feelings, OK?!

It tilts me a little that Octoberfest beer comes out in like mid-August, maybe that's just a Midwestern thing.
