In addition, we are known to pay some of the highest royalty rates in our industry. Future authors will see lower royalty rates and it's even possible that a couple of books will require a renegotiate of the contract with the author(s) or they won't be worth reprinting.

Two Plus Two Interactive works a little differently, but we have been thinking about adding a full time in house employee here as well, Again, if Obama's tax plan is implemented, this new employee will be history.

This is what happens when you spread the wealth. It will definitely hurt our companies.

Best wishes,
Mason
Did said employee end up being fired?

Has Obama's tax plan been implemented yet?

Did "think about hiring" turn into "actually hired"?

So who, if anyone, has been fired from 2p2 because of Obama?

I may be wrong here, but I don't think a lot of Obama's campaign plan has gone into effect, but the not raising taxes on anyone making over 250k has proven to be laughably false though.

Well we're talking specifically about the "ruin Mason Malmuth's business" part of Obama's campaign plan here. I just want to know how that's going.

I'm fairly certain the income tax hikes haven't gone into effect yet... nor did Mason say it'd ruin his business, just that he'd cut back bonuses and how much he's willing to give out as a royalty.

I didn't know 2p2 was a sole proprietorship

Out of curiosity how does Obama even come close to justifying his 250K claim? I mean, it was absurdly false to begin with, but considering he's done things like increase cigarrette tax (what % of cig. tax revenue is from people under 250K? Like 90%+?) and tanning tax (pretty sure a hell of alot of people making under 250K go to tanning booths) why doesn't someone at a press conference be like

"Yo dude, you said about a million times nobody making less than 250K would pay more taxes, but here a bunch of taxes that people under 250K make, what up?"

Is nobody calling him out on it? Does he have some sort of BS definition of is is justification, what gives?

in before all politicians lie on the campaign trail......
07-23-2010 , 01:38 AM
random ? but were people freaking out hardcore in the 90s about paying 39%?
i ron't recall a huge push by the repubs to cut taxes for people making >250k during the Clinton years but that was a long time ago

No.

Edit: Unless you consider grumbling under your breath and complaining to the guys down at the mill 'freaking out hardcore.'

Looks like Brietbart stole your argument:

Quote:
One of President Barack Obama's campaign pledges on taxes went up in puffs of smoke Wednesday.
The largest increase in tobacco taxes took effect despite Obama's promise not to raise taxes of any kind on families earning under $250,000 or individuals under $200,000.

This is one tax that disproportionately affects the poor, who are more likely to smoke than the rich.

Which is weird, since Brietbart has consistently maintained that he doesn't read Cotton Hill's posts and mindlessly regurgitate them as talking points.

I can think of a couple ways to pay less tax on cigs.

Let's not forget that fed govt is arguing (as I predicted they would months ago) that the mandate to purchase health insurance is a tax. That's clearly a violation of the Obama campaign promise that he has acknowledged.

dude, its called being a good politician!

God forbid people get less money for writing about poker. That would be horrible.

Also, nobody under 250k/year is forced to smoke or go to tanning salons. What a ridiculous argument. If you were talking about increasing taxes on food staples I'd be with you.

You're right, he could have cribbed that from any number of winger sites. Didn't meant to single out Breitbart unfairly there.

The problem was that making a promise that broad is dumb.
