And yet, like no other POTUS before him, he doesn't get taken down for it from the press.

"Sir, are you expanding government like no other President before you in peacetime?"
"Naw."
"C'mon... really?"
"Really. I'm not."
"Okay."

He can just keep saying over and over again that he's being "fiscally responsible" and not get challenged for it. Seriously. I can't imagine the Press can stay on Bias Island forever.

Actually, I've been a lot happier with McCain since he lost. He's been pretty outspoken on how insane these massive spending bills are.

I don't "support" McCain, but I would choose him over Obama. Welcome to America.

Of course I have about a zillion people I'd draw up a list on that would be better than both and that I could actually get enthused about. But in the mean time, it's like being on a desert island with lima beans and poisonous plants. I'll suffer and eat the lima beans to survive.

says "uh" too much. you'd think he'd be aware of that problem after 5th or 6th grade.

I don't watch his speeches anymore....the whole "we don't like big government" comment is a prime example of why...like he stole it right out of the Neo-Con play book.

It used to be:
Dems: promise big govt, deliver big govt.
Reps: promise small govt, deliver big govt.

Now its:
Dems: promise big govt, deliver big govt, tell ppl they don't want big govt, but tough times call for tough measures
Reps: rah rah rah limited govt, obama sucks, limited govt rah rah rah OMGWTFBBQ
RP-fans: FFS, neo cons, get off our nuts.

What tilts me the most is that he seems totally unable to answer even a simple question with less than 1,000 words.

400 of them are 'uh'

The art of a press conference is the ability to fill time while effectively saying absolutely nothing of substance.

the other thing I notice is his volume changes..... it is not inflection by any means, it is an actual change in the volume of his voice. I think when he really doesn't believe what he is about to say, he speaks softer, or when he is saying something he doesn't think his voters want to hear he gets softer.

Most politicians don't like giving short answers.

They tend to give a complete run through of their entire position on the matter be discussed.

Ex:

By what date do you plan to have all combat troops out of Iraq?

Politician: [Complete run-through of Iraq position]

I understand that, but if a normal politician would give you a 5 minute answer, Obama's going to speak for 10.

It's not evil. Just incredibly boring and useless.

Nice. I think I only knew that subconsciously on some level, it's very true though.
