Good luck Jeedz. If Cheney can keep being evil forever with his heart issues, you can keep being Jeedz.

I discovered my Albertsons stocks these jamaba juice fruit smoothie mixers. http://www.jambajuice.com/more-jamba.../smoothie-kits

They're $3 a pop and you mix in 8oz apple juice and blend in blender for a damn good fruit smoothie. There are also some other types made by dole and yoplait and generic, where you can add in OJ or milk. I bought four types and they all look good, lol. Jamba seems the best so far.

I've been litigating a case vs a Caribbean medical school Dr. for 2 years. She filed the case vs my client but we had it dismissed on a motion and were awarded fees. Just filed the opposition to her appeal, for which we will also get fees. She is apparently not a bad doc for her general practice patients but is stone cold has a psychiatrist to treat her manic depression for 10 years crazy. Her lawyer should have warned her not to file the case and not to file the appeal, but she thinks she's always right and her lawyer has "enabled" her to no end. Kinda sad--a doc with an irrational lust to have her way regardless of what the law says can cause a lot more social harm than 20 EBT card moochers.

And don't get me started on medical malpractice (kidding, that's not really a thing).

edit: Another really good drink. 32 oz of cold bottled water with ice and 1/3 squeezed lemon. Refreshing!

Thanks man. Luckily, it's not as bad as I first thought and just means that I have to make a few lifestyle changes for now, no more fatty foods and a bit of exercise.

My cousin is a doctor in Texas and he tells me about how some of his partners have faced suits for malpractice, sometimes for absolute bogus reasons. Are they that common or does it depend on the field of medicine?

Pretty sweet. Apparently everybody here is holding. If some pussy tries a mass shooting here he'll get dropped quick.
I doubt it would make much difference. I've never been in one but I would think a mass shooting is a very chaotic event. It would be hard, in that environment, to tell who was the crazy killer and who was playing defense. Also, a lot of people talk tough but wouldn't have the stones to actually drop someone or engage in a gunfight.

Malpractice suits are expensive, hard to prove, disfavored by the public, and damages are often capped by state law. Lawyers can only handle so many cases, and they generally want to file what they believe to be be strong cases if done on contingency. The lack of incentives to file malpractice cases most likely means that many meritorious cases are not being filed. Also, economists have done studies demonstrating the litigation costs, etc. are a trivial part of medical costs. It would be more accurate to say Drs have an insurance problem than a malpractice/lawyer problem.

Every doctor I've ever talked to about malpractice is that you will be sued for malpractice if you ever practice for a significant amount of time. Fact of life.

I trust Ikes to do colonoscopy on me anytime.

Deuces should be the next roommate of Ikes. Great TV show that would be.

Wait, i thought ikes made 300k/year. Now he's been reduced to living with crazy stranger roommates and having others buy him charity fixer-uppers??

He's in Med School now, where you get $500K in debt so you can earn $300K (maybe) in 10 years, and make less of an hourly wage than a teacher.

It actually would be. Not only would we argue politics but no doubt play HU for bankrolls. It's hard to imagine more grudge than that. On the other hand there is a good chance it wouldn't make it past the pilot.

There is some non-zero chance that this woman was perfectly sane before rooming with ikes and has since been driven completely bat**** crazy from exposure to this guy.

So my cousin that has brain cancer is having a benefit on Saturday. Today I came into possession of a jersey signed by the Chicago Blackhawks. They put up a jersey in the locker room for 2 weeks with a flyer for her benefit with her story and evidently everyone signed it. The team rep that we spoke to said it's extremely rare for so many to sign something and it's usually like 3 players that sign any given item. Looking up online the only thing I can find that's comparable is retailing for like 2500$ so hopefully we can raise quite a bit for her. Pretty stoked about it other than the fact that I'm in charge of making sure it gets to the benefit in one piece...

You're a cool mother****er, you know that? You're winning Florida for Obama and rocking it for cancer. Very cool.

It's Iowa, so 1000+ at the silent auction were doing probably won't sell, and we want someone we know to get it so we'll probably sell it raffle ticket style.

My uncle is raffling off a gun and it's raised like 1500 on its own using that method.

Raffle is a good idea. Are the Blackhawks popular in Iowa? If I were doing it here in dc (for a caps signed sweater) I would sell tickets at 50 to 100 a pop and cap the tickets at 100-lets ppl feel like they gave a chance...then again there is most likely higher disposable income here, so maybe 20 a piece and no cap. Selling raffle tickets when ppl have been drinking is a good idea.

We're thinking 20 per ticket no cap. They're popular in Iowa. Closest hockey team and they just won the cup. Chicago sports teams are very popular where I'm from.

On a lark I played a tournament at our local hole in the wall card club, first time playing in 2 years. Typical crap structure but I had a ton of fun anyway, players are just as bad as ever, especially at the push/fold decisions, and I ended up chopping 3 ways for 1k. I completely forgot how much I enjoyed poker before playing for a living ruined it for me.

Just had to politely get rid of two Mormon missionaries from California. Seems weird to see them in the English countryside far from their native land. Super-nice, friendly young hipsters but I can't be bothered with the Mormon message (or Christianity or religion for that matter). Having said that, I don't have anything against them whatsoever, I hope they get paid well (Mitt Romney's donations alone should cover it)-it's no fun walking around knocking on doors.
11-10-2013 , 03:09 PM
Maybe it was guerilla marketing.

11-10-2013 , 03:13 PM
Logistically expensive guerilla marketing if they're from Cali. (They were also very, very well-dressed).

Could be local Englanders with a penchant for fake accents? Either way, no time for Latter Day Spam.

That's the whole point of a mormon mission brah. Those dudes got off easy if they got sent to the English countryside. My ex girlfriends brothers got sent to guatemala, chile and other places like that.

I ran into a couple of Mormons in Barcelona. Was cool to be able to speak English with somebody instead of hearing that weird Catalonian accent.

Solid brag. Even though I'm a profitable player, have read about 20 books, and was successful in over 1000 online tourneys, poker started to seem too much like work. Last hand of online or live poker I played was like two years ago...and I live in so. cal.

Maybe I should hit some of the local rooms on fri/sat while my friends deal with their kids. Thing is I used to love to drink, smoke (cigarettes), and play poker until 4am, but I've quit smoking and have cut back on drinking and I'm afraid seeing other people play live when I'm sober will cause a matasow-like breakdown.
