Well, 1500 miles away it wasn't terribly dangerous anyway.

Still waiting for well named to respond, but at this time it seems like his brand new forum will exile the ****posters clamoring for a non-liberal politics forum faster than they were exiled here.

I heard about the fallout being detected a week or so ago. The source wasn't known but they knew it was a major incident.

Stepan Kalmykov, a chemistry professor at Moscow State University, told N+1, an online news portal, that while posing no health hazard, the leak clearly raised other worries in Russia and beyond. “Somewhere, apparently, the process broke down,” he said, “and nobody can guarantee that at the same place a more serious and more dangerous accident will not happen.”

The ruthenium cloud is not an indication of a reactor meltdown, which would spew a bouquet of many different isotopes, not just the one, said Vitaly G. Fedchenko, senior researcher at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute. “The release would have to come from a container or a place where already separated ruthenium isotope is stored,” he said.

Russia leaking radioactive materials is like the least surprising thing ever, especially from that location:

On a road trip, am thankful for cruise control, audiobooks, and the surprisingly acceptable quality of Mickey D's coffee.

Also, depending on the conversation, maybe blackmail.

The coverage on this story is appalling. Someone on MSNBC pointed out that Barton was possibly the victim of a crime and not really accused of any wrongdoing, and both anchors said they looked at his leaked naked pics, found them aesthetically displeasing, and wasn’t that offensive?

I'm at Thanksgiving with my stepfather's family - mostly conservative I'm assuming based on age and the fact that they are old live in Arizona, SW Colorado and the midwest.

My mom, God bless her, thought it would be a good idea to put on a DVD about the Trail of Tears. Yeah mom, that should be some fun discussion.

I saw this little thing on the history of Thanksgiving yesterday. The recognition as a national holiday is largely the result of Sarah Josepha Hale. She was a writer and a columnist (she wrote Mary Had a Little Lamb) and she lobbied in columns and in letters to 5 successive presidents until Lincoln made it a national holiday.

Black Friday shoppers are already camped outside a Cabela's store I'm at. They're very well-equipped for it.

If they already have camping gear what do they need from Cabela's?

What are the odds that Barton even knows what that is?

A fellow student in grad school was a Russian immigrant from Chernobyl. He went on to become a safety engineer at a nuclear power plant in Idaho I think. He told some stories that were hard to believe. He might have just been messing with me.

A real president tells the supreme court to go **** off. #MAGA

Sadly, not too much different than back then--the manifest destiny days, we're doing this because god wants us to do it logic of nonsense.

A movie about Natives on Thanksgiving, sounds appropriate. What could go wrong?

im watching some crazy conspiracy videos. I don't think they're true. My greatest wish for the world is for midstakes plyers at the venetian, when they pass the britney spears slot machines near the noodle house, to think of me.
