I'm not surprised. How many times have we seen people with niche skills at chess/math/programming display terrible critical thinking skills? Bobby Fischer was a raving lunatic and there are plenty of out there programming guys.

I'm not sure it's a good idea. Actually it's probably a bad idea in many ways. I might do it anyway, because I find it interesting. It will certainly be somewhat different than the last incarnation. Different enough to matter to you? I'm not sure. Plus ça change etc.

I think it's likely you and I will always see some of the questions surrounding the politics forums differently, in any case, and I'm not going to try to defend the idea to you at the moment because I feel like whatever best explanations I'm capable of making I've already made in the past. That doesn't mean I don't think about your objections though.
