It took about 3 minutes. Progressive activist, but it's a dumb test. They might as well just ask you if you're a progressive activist or not.
11-18-2018 , 09:53 PM
Seemed just as dumb as the rest of the political quizzes I've seen. I also got progressive activist, though I don't think I come close to the activism of most others itf

I was just thinking about their political impact in Israel. You always hear about the Orthodox and their impact, but Leiberman is a right wing not-Orthodox. I hadn't really thought of that group's political orientation being formed around the militaristic nationalism of a refugee group assimilating like the Cubans or like many Vietnamese in California.
Sounds like an interesting theory. Don't know much about Cuban or Vietnamese, but the majority of Russian-born Israelis are very right-wing while being very secular. A generally less common combination Israel. It's worth mentioning that left vs right in Israel is almost entirely related to the Arab conflict. The different types of RWNJ in Israel have completely different economical and social views. They just agree on hating Arabs and Libs.

Liberman ran once with the slogan of "Only Liberman understands Arabic" (which implies he gets that you have to pound them into submission). The "problem" is that you can't actually "pound them", which is why every right-wing Defense Minister ends up resigning and become Bibi's scapegoat.

In a little too in-depth analysis, Bennett, who is a much more dangerous right-wing figure than Liberman (and the current Education Minister which partially explains why I live in the US now) tried to bully Netanyahu into giving him the role of Defense Minister.

Netanyahu is a much better politician and in a serious of well orchestrated spins has managed to twist the situation so that Bennett now takes the blame for the collapse of the government.

It's expected that tomorrow morning Bennett will resign which means Netanyahu doesn't have a coalition anymore and there will be new elections probably around March. The results will be exactly the same as they are now, an almost identical coalition will form and literally nothing will change except a few billions in tax payers money gone.

I know it doesn't look like that, but the only half decent quality of Bibi is that he doesn't like wars. He likes the status-quo where everyone is miserable and he keeps getting elected.

Wouldn't you not be politically disengaged by definition if taking that survey?

A reminder that the US doesn't have a monopoly on boorish sexist leaders:

Pamela Anderson criticises Australia PM for 'smutty' comment

Quote:
Actress Pamela Anderson has criticised Australia's prime minister for making "smutty" remarks about her, after earlier asking him to help Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

Ms Anderson had urged Scott Morrison to bring Mr Assange to Australia.

Mr Morrison rejected her plea, but said he had "plenty of mates who have asked me if they can be my special envoy to sort out the issue with Pamela".

This quote goes to the luck/skill dicotamy addressed above.

It's no wonder conservatives get taken into MLM and the prosperity gospel. Given that life outcome is largely based on them and not luck/circumstance, they need to believe in some path to get there exists from whatever situation they find themselves. Kind of a twist on the Protestant ethic (that the chosen can be individuated by their worldly success.)

I probably believe in the efficacy of individual work more than many on the left, but social structures can make it difficult for many to get beyond their "tier", as shown by income mobility data (big NY Times project earlier this year) and the tendency of many successful minorities to live in worse neighborhoods and have to prop up others in their network. In a complex and confusing modern world there is nothing better than multiple chances and safety nets. And, of course, 50% of people are of below-average intellect and operating in a complex world where many people are trying to scam you much of the time, and at least 10% have some significant disability. (12.6% according to the last census.)

Not only is poverty seen as a sign of bad character but very commonly of poor decision-making.

"Get Julian his passport back and take him back home to Australia and be proud of him, and throw him a parade when he gets home," she told Australia's 60 Minutes programme.

On Sunday, Ms Anderson wrote in an open letter: "You trivialized and laughed about the suffering of an Australian and his family.

"You followed it with smutty, unnecessary comments about a woman voicing her political opinion."

Labor Senator Kristina Keneally tweeted: "It's high time men, including @ScottMorrisonMP, stopped using a woman's sexuality & appearance to denigrate her political arguments."
yea totally, throw a parade for the russian stooge who is attempting to subvert democracy and political freedom in your home country. because obviously the only way to "denigrate" her position here is by invoking her sexuality (way past her prime and diseased anyway, she should take it as a compliment from morrison tbh)

like, ***** is obviously desperate for relevance/attention and he just gave her that. you mean he was actually supposed to take her seriously? loooooooooool

Be proud of the accused rapist.

What goes through a woman's mind when she thinks like that?
