To be fair, he made that Obama/Oprah comment in response to my broad statement of "white men winning against the negro". That's largely why I've shifted to giving him/her benefit of the doubt, though I don't expect others to just yet and I may soon regret doing so lol. Let's see how this read of mine holds up. Thank god my poker reads are better than my reads on this forum so far.

Hey guys I think I've figured out why deplorables are constantly on HIGH ALERT about crisis actors.

Spoiler:
It's called PROJECTION

If the SMP crew were still around they might be able to find the optimal protest medthod by taking the derivative of the protest function and finding the inflection points.

Another thing I forgot to quote:Sure and there were black Trump voters, and there's that black sheriff wacko who thinks police racism doesn't exist (and it's "open-season on cops" etc), and there are women who voted for Roy Moore. That doesn't change the fact that when white people criticize Kaep's methodology, 99% of the time it's because they're a derper/racist. It's never someone like Cornell West. Actual activists for black rights overwhelmingly support the tactic.

I think maybe you haven't encountered enough of these derpers to know how it looks when you say some of the things they always say (which in a vacuum aren't bad things). If I were taking a position like yours on a forum full of liberal sharks, I'd make every effort from the start to make it clear I'm coming at it from a different place than the derpers. Just a tip for the future (not being condescending).
Apology accepted, and thank you for your thoughtful post. I will heed your advice in the future.

Well, I hope you won't regret it.

Really hoping that Belichick and Brady show up for this National Anthem party at the White House for the ultimate troll.

Still not a single ****ing suggestion on alternate methods.

What have you protested, and how did you protest it?

As it turned out, there weren’t many of them on the South Lawn, either. Many of the people on the lawn were men in their 20s and 30s, and they wore navy blue suits and ties, or navy blue blazers and khakis, and most of them had short haircuts and appeared to have just showered, and all of them held American flags. I’ve seen Eagles fans. Generally, they don’t look like that. “We’re all staffers,” one of them said. Jenna Webster, a student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison who is interning at the Republican National Committee, said that she had received a mass email from the White House earlier in the day, inviting her to attend the event. She was not visibly bothered that the Eagles had abandoned her.

Surreal. Eagles' fans coming to the WH to show solidarity with Orange instead of their beloved Birds* is just nonsensical. I don't...even....what? Totally through the looking glass, as usual. They didn't even bother handing the impostors green towels and hats.

*yes I got that term from Silver Linings Playbook.

I wish someone had kept a straight face and asked which country he thought they should be deported to.

I know that if I'm flying over to DC in the summertime for a football fan event I'm definitely wearing either a suit and tie or business casual.

Deported to you and I means country where they were born. Deported to Trump and his followers means removed from the US and no longer their problem.

It's seriously Nazi Germany circa 1925 give or take a few years.

If Trump is still around in 10 years, he'll be calling for execution of anyone that doesn't stand for the flag.

I gather that, and obviously Orange didn't think that far ahead when he said it. Then again, maybe it's for the best that troll question wasn't asked, for the athletes' sake.

To be fair Philly fans probably couldn’t make it past security to get to the White House newayz.

Saluting the flag becomes more powerful and meaningful in a society that embraces protest intended to improve the very reasons one is proud of that flag. It is the patriotic duty to protest with ethical deeds but also with precisely what is so importantly symbolic. You fight for your symbols not because they are your symbols but because of what they stand for. And if they are no longer standing for free thinking, self criticism, inner reflection and the search of the truth then you are no longer a democracy.

Protest is precisely what makes the flag stronger.
06-07-2018 , 04:55 AM
These guys make millions to play the game, if they want to protest they should do it on their own time.

This.

One of the biggest and least spoken of problems in America is that too many people conflate patriotism and nationalism to the point where they are used interchangeably. Nationalism is unwavering support of a government of a country whereas patriotism is support for a set of ideas a country is supposed to symbolize. Because of this lack of nuance, supporting the government regardless of its actions is regarded as being a "true" American.

The reality is that there is nothing less American than blind support of a government run amok. Trump supporters are some of the least American people in existence. Yeah, their fathers and forefathers fought for our freedoms but because of fear, they give up those freedoms without a fight. It's cowardice to the nth degree.
