Yes, old white men continue to win against the negro. Well done Pence.

Well when I was in the US last I almost (for a joke) bought some US Flag swimming shorts. So there are plenty of people out there right now with their junk rubbing up against old glory.

Bari gotta take every opportunity to remind everyone hey, life's hard for conservatives too!

The NFL is stupid for doing this because now they are alienating more people and their new rule isn't something Trump is too pleased with so now all the MAGA morons will get mad that players are staying in the locker room. It really seems like Trump is still holding a grudge that he couldn't make it as a football owner and is using his power to hurt the NFL bottom line as much as possible.

When will people come to their senses. All this fuss over the anthem, yet we don't even have a mandatory prayer before the anthem. God first, country second, ffs.

Really there should be mandatory daily patriotism tests for all black people. How can we be sure they love america if we dont force them all to stand and salute once a day?

Its about huge sums of revenue lost last year due to ratings. Power > Money > Fame same as it has ever been. If ratings soared because ‘Murica tuned in each week to see who kneeled, then the owners would be out there kneeling also.

This half assed bull**** solves nothing. And the NFL owners are ****ing dumb. Demographics are shifting left bro...even if you ignore the obvious moral decision that should've been made, money wise, they should've coalesced and stood in solidarity with all the players who chose and will choose to kneel and told President Trump to go **** himself and dig their heels in until he dies. Don't tread on me, *****.

One time: if Trump attends a game, they should play the Russian anthem or the live performer should sing it after dedicating the performance to Trump.

i've never seen this actually proven, everyone just likes to say it to try and prove their point. ratings are down but, the ratings numbers specifically dont include any of the RedZone type channels which are growing beyond people watching individual games. i haven't watched an actual full NFL game on a Sunday in like 2 years, even though i watch the nfl for 7 hours every sunday. so people like me are included in these "declining" ratings..

the main thing people base this on is lolphone polls, where conservatives say, "yur darn right i aint gonna watch" and then they proceed to watch anyway.

eta- and to add to that. i'm actually a double RedZone subscriber, because i have the directTv redzone, and i pay for NFL channel redzone on my mobile.

True, I have not seen the nitty gritty of the ratings break downs.

I have seen owners squirming around like earthworms in the rain, however.

The Russian anthem is actually really good from a musical perspective.

I've always thought that the American anthem was stilted, poorly written and difficult to sing. "America the Beautiful" and "God Bless America" would be far better alternates imo.

What song do they play, if any, in London when the real game of American football is in town?

It's still better than God Save The Queen.

I was boycotting anthems before it was cool.

love God save the Queen

I like the atmosphere that the crowd singing the song themselves creates.

Imagine if Americans sung The Star Spangled Banner in unison. It'd sound like a flock of seagulls flying through an industrial fan.

Both the US and the UK anthem.

Not their fault. It's just an incredibly difficult song to sing.

Love the Brits singing "God Save Our Queen" at the Hatton/Mayweather fight. Didn't even let Tom Jones start lol. And this fight was in Vegas. Wasn't like they were fighting at Wembley.

Yeah this, but it isn't just an NFL problem. All of network TV has been down, with NFL ratings losing less than the average decline. It's like pointing out that IBM stock is down a few points in the middle of a recession and blaming it on their black engineers.
