One of them was found not guilty of stealing a government car that he was found inside, after stealing it and driving it away from the wildlife reserve.
It was absolutely jury nullification. The prosecution may have leaned into it, I don't know, that's how it generally went down in Jim Crow when it was straight up legal to murder black people.
