the jury debated for about a week, and apparently, had a two hour drive each way to get to the courthouse or wherever they met at. then, not only that, but that the hammonds were barely allowed one day to present their case, most of which wasn't allowed in the court for "reasons". the jury requested information such as what the punishment would be but the judge kept threatening them and kept trying to make sure the jury was as ignorant as possible on things such as why it makes sense to start a backfire to protect property or other rancher things.
