Does the right wing have any folk hero who AREN'T in favor of returning black people to chattel slavery, though?

Holy ****, Chiefsplanet is going full "Here's what's wrong with American negros..."

I can say I'm not really surprised to find out he is a racist.
04-24-2014 , 08:43 AM
Of course the liberal NYT will report it when a Republican hero says something racist.
04-24-2014 , 09:20 AM
I think I posted this a few days ago but SOMEHOW INCREDIBLY HOW DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING, right-wing libertarians just find the World's Worst Pied Pipers, constantly. I mean no one is going to remember this clownshow in two weeks let alone two years and no one is going to hold it against the the Paul family political machine in 2016 for finding yet another of America's militiamen who JUST SO HAPPEN to believe the most repulsive things about black people to hold up as the paragon of Patriotic America's Fight Against the Feds and yet here we are:

Quote:
A spokesman for Mr. Paul, informed of Mr. Bundy’s remarks, said the senator was not available for immediate comment.
Ah, man, HOW DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO THE PAUL FAMILY, I JUST, I DONT GET IT

Must be a conspiracy somehow, to make libertarians look bad. It's a deep, snarky trick of degenerate media leftist communist pond scum who make libertarian militiamen look bad and racist with ruses such as "give them a microphone" and "interview them."
04-24-2014 , 09:21 AM
Such a proud racist.

Of course Faux News won't.

This is why you don't ever say anything in support of nutjobs. Ever. I have no idea what any of the Republicans who said anything supportive thought this was going to turn out.

Frankly they got lucky. Right now it's just the NYT and a bunch of internet liberals haw-hawing at them because they allied themselves with a racist creep, this is like an every week occurrence for the GOP, whatever. It's not a long term problem.

Like, this **** could have turned out way worse, with the Bundy family mowing down BLM turds out in the desert with their automatic weapons on national TV or something because their cows got touched or something. The GOP is a bunch of wreckless idiots setting themselves up as circus masters for the "angry white people with guns pointing them everywhere" clownshow, they got off easy this time. Rand Paul, Dean Heller et al are basically staking their political careers and the fortunes of the party on the hopes these guys aren't quite as trigger happy as they appear and are just bluffing. One angry idiot starts opening fire on federal officers and barricading themselves behind their kids and wives on TV while you were signing them paeans on FNC 5 minutes before and you can pretty much kiss your political career and aspirations goodbye, and then I am quite certain the 'liberal' media will start making way more hay out of this and making sure the blood stains taint the GOP in the midterms and probably into 2016. They're absolutely playing with fire.

Here's a shocker I learned this morning - Glenn Beck isn't backing this guy.

Like how much of a nutjob do you have to be for GLENN BECK to say, "Woah, let's slow down here, maybe pay your grazing fees?"
04-24-2014 , 09:38 AM
It's fine. Bundy will hold a conference saying he doesn't have any actual racist feeling in his bones towards black people. See? Not racist. No harm, no foul. Something... black friend, something... let them use the toilet.

Also the Duck Dynasty guy will be standing behind him with his hand on his shoulder for support.

I honestly wonder how many non-angry white people are even paying attention to this. It seems to be a winning issue with the GOP that it completely frosts up the bass, but most of the people who usually scare off part paying that much attention. Unlike say the primary debates – which people seem to pay a little more attention to.

Right. Exactly. For the moment, it's a "winning" issue for the GOP because the image (for the moment) is aggrieved nice white cowboy versus Black President and his faceless bureaucracy being busybodies on America's ranches, playing out only in theaters politically active libertarians care about. It's red meat for the right-wing base in the midst of a story that only the right-wing base is paying close attention to. In that context, it's safe enough for Rand Paul and Dean Heller to jump in and fan the flames and hold these clowns up as the paragon of freedom fighting virtue against Mean BaBlack Blackbama taking white people cows.

Once you shine the spotlight on these creeps, the fact that they're repulsive nutters becomes interesting and could become problematic for the GOP but since (for the moment) the feds have deescalated everyone will go away and stop caring again. They got lucky the Bundy types probably are showboating a little bit and if they're lucky, probably won't open fire. If they did, all the political calculus above probably goes out the window, the press has a field day documenting how America's Racist Creep Libertarian Class finally acted out their Turner Diaries fantasies trying to instigate their race war against the feds, and the entire affair becomes one huge blight for the right-wing "rile up the right-wing anger bears for fun and profit" strategy for an election cycle or two.

They're basically staking a ****load for like the chance they might secure the political donations of the Alex Jones audience, but like I said, the political acumen of the American right is at all time low, although profits remain high, so they'll probably keep flogging the dog here and hope it never bites back.

I imagine Rand Paul sitting in front of a computer asking an intern where the find and replace button is as he pulls up SouthernAvengerstatement.docx

Well we're paying attention to it, although we're just pointing and laughing

There's actually a guy on huskerboard who is claiming that this is all the government's fault. All the government's fault for "enabling this guy for 20 years"

like, what

Well Mr. Bundy we could have those cotton pickin negroes build up a fence around the federal land to keep your cattle out - and pay them using the money you owe in rent and fines!
04-24-2014 , 10:21 AM
If the BLM was to lease 5 acres of land. To these people on these so called projects in north Las Vegas, maybe they could use the AUMs to earn a living. Bundy gave up his right to them by not paying his taxes and illegally grazing his cattle without them.

The reality is being a rancher is probably the easiest job in the world. You put cattle out and you just cull them. The BLM rounds up horses and burros every year to cull the herd to prevent overgrazing.

http://www.blm.gov/wo/st/en/prog/whb.../schedule.html

To Republicans the Bundy's are hard working americans (as are all ranchers), when in reality they are landowners and rent seekers.
