Immigrants For Infrastructure Immigrants For Infrastructure

One would think that with our need for major infrastructure work, our present low unemployment rates, and the desire and ability of non American citizens from south of the border to do work for a good price, there ought to be a win-win strategy to combine these factors and make most people happy. I provided the slogan. You guys can work out the details.

What happens when your Mexican friends from Guatemala kill my family? As for slogans I’d go with “Lock this thread!!”

DS forgot what happened to Chinese workers after The First Transcontinental Railroad was created.

Also a "win win" in DS world

Also, is it infrastructure week?

I like how David popped in and went, "Hey my idea is clearly awesome and does not need to be refuted. You do the work now guys I'm gonna jerk off to pictures of myself doing math."

I actually thought of this idea as well - I would even have it create credits toward citizenship as part of the compensation.

You could have camps that specialize in board and lodging (and the management) of corresponding work forces for menial tasks.

Oh yeah? You wanna deprive this hard working american of a job?

Did an infrastructure bill ever get proposed?

I always thought during his campaign that he was gonna include the wall in his infrastructure proposal.

Last I heard he was trying to give the project to one of his cronies firms that had never done a large infrastructure job at all. Because best people or something.

Another sweet thread bought to you by some old guy named Dave

It was already done better and the slogan was "Immigrants: they get the job done!"

Try a value system that doesn't involve immigrants being valuable based on the profit they provide to giant corporations. Neoliberalism is not really cool, valuing people just for being people is all the rage nowadays.

Why is rambo calling David SK (or Sk or sk)?
06-25-2018 , 10:49 AM
the argument is usually that we should have immigrant workers, just take away the 14th amendment so their kids can't get immediate citizenship and don't allow them to receive any public benefits.

Absolutely. It's just a bonus that immigration also adds value - it's only possibly worth discussing to rebut the argument that it's too costly

Even better slogan: "Slavery! It's ok because they're brown."

Bright ideas like this are why it is important to keep immigrants from voting.

Taking this to the next level - how about a country/industry sponsored city specifically for immigrants and asylum seekers from anywhere in the world? The city would be built around a manufacturing industry with the immigrant employees receiving housing, training, daycare, etc as part of the compensation. It solves the problem of freeing the immigrants from there home country and putting them in a situation where success is much more likely compared to entering a foreign country without a skill set.

That already exists, it's called:

Spoiler:
The United States of America

A huge infrastructure investment was the only possible positive of a Trump presidency. And of course it now appears to be the campaign promise that trump cares about the least.

A useless wall isn't an "investment".
