Nevada Rancher Hilarity: The Tragic Death of Y'All Qaeda's Tarp Man Nevada Rancher Hilarity: The Tragic Death of Y'All Qaeda's Tarp Man

Oklahoma militia members join fight with feds.

The Oklahoma Militia says it is made up of nearly 50,000 volunteers.

Members say they are taking Bundy’s side and fear this practice could spread to the Sooner State.

“Evidently in America we don’t actually own the property anymore if you ever did.”

“Just look around the country, they are doing it everywhere. If they can do it in Nevada, they can do it in Colorado, Texas. I mean, what’s to stop them from coming to Oklahoma? The only thing to stop them is ‘We the People’.”

Really? So if the sheriff, IRS, or whoever is planning to lawfully seize some of your assets and you are known to be armed and belligerent, you think they send out some guy from accounts receivable with a clipboard and a stern expression?

It isn't over the top. It's SOP. Armed douchebags get a visit from the guys in Kevlar with assault rifles and specialized training. Every time, everywhere.

Lol no. You collect past due taxes with paperwork not guns.
04-21-2014 , 10:07 PM
They weren't collecting taxes. They were seizing assets.

What could possible be gained?

The BLM for some reason over played their hand going in hot with cattle rustlers, armed thuggs and snipers. They physically assalted those who opposed them. Yeah, I know this rancher has lost twice in court and now he owes the feds 1 mirron in fees. I mean really... why not just place a lean on the property???

Contrast that with the 100,000 who celebrated the Corolado pot laws by smoking weed in public. The LAW in Colorado is that smoking in public is Illeagal and carries a fine of one full and one half fun ticket. FEDERAL LAW is that pot is a controlled substance and strickly ILLEagal, yet the feds don't really care about this even though Its the law!!1! Thats 1-1/2 mirron!!!! Fedaral law still states that weed is ILLEGAL!!!1!. Yet, no feds with automatic weapons, snippersor even tazzarz...why?

Doesn't the LAWZ mattarz?
Seizing the property of the guy who owes the people of the United States a million dollars or so seems like a better idea than fining people for smoking weed. Am I supposed to be angry that the federal government got its priorities correct for once?

We'll see how this gets resolved. My guess it will not involved armed agents but something much more mundane. Proceeds from cattle sale end up with the Feds not the Rancher.

Why not just make an announcement that they aren't going to enforce this particular law? Its been done recently so why not again?

Why no seizing of assets in Colorado? I mean... oh wait, nevermind.

Smoking pot isn't harming other people's interests, whereas the BLM is charged with managing their lands to satisfy multiple types of uses. Environmental concerns are among those. Additionally, the BLM must follow the Endangered Species Act, which has a citizen suit provision. IIRC the BLM was sued and lost in court and basically forced to act after 20 years because Bundy's cattle were damaging some critical habitat of either a threatened or endangered species. The DOJ doesn't come into play here, that's a total red herring.

How do the Feds collect on the cattle sales when they don't have the cattle?
04-21-2014 , 10:20 PM
Zikzak is right, this is a country where we use SWAT to deal with weed smokers and lap dogs, not sure anything else should be expected in this type of situation.

You're from Iowa man. Don't ranchers sell to meat processors? I try to avoid linking my delicious burgers to those sweet animals.

I genuinely can't tell if he thinks he's cleverly making a point or if he's just brain damaged.

Edit: So probably more the latter than the former.
