America is better for some things, not online poker lol. Some countries are a lot more chill and free than us, but we have them beat in a lot of other things.

This thread blows me away. Most Americans are ridiculous, irrational US-homers when they dont have to think about it. This thread explicitly points out how stupid that attitude is, how stupid anyone would have to be to just blindly assert their country was superior just because they happened to be born there.
This is undoubtedly true IRL in many areas of the country. But in forums like this I would say there are just as many Chomsky-ites who have to go out of their way to block out all the good the US has done in the world so they can, I don't know, impress everyone with their 'objective intellect' I guess.
I mean European concentration camps are your go-to argument for downplaying American morality in wwii compared to other nations - think about that for a second. What if the Holocaust happened in Canada and a large % of the US complied with orders to put all their Jews on trains like it was no big deal, and France or somebody didn't get around to helping fast enough for your liking - would you ***** all over the French or maybe blame the US for actively corroborating?
I do agree w/ everything that's been said about the USSR being the key to the allied win. How that relates to having any sort of claim to better goodwill than the US in the war, I'm not sure. It's not like they raped Poland in the @ss and held a joint victory parade with the nazis before they were invaded....oh that's right, they did, right before slaughtering a bunch of Poles in the Gulag camps. That's all good though, probly America's fault for not helping.

From my month in England I certainly conclude British food is ten times worse than American...not even close. But I thought the beer tasted much better however I don't have access to good local miceobrews here anyway

More recently, when the UK's prime minister visited, our President gave him some used Stallone DVDs. Then when he visited your quant little country he gave the Queen an iPod. Class.

Have you been reading this thread? How wasted are you? I wasn't trying to "burn" anyone just adding my opinion on something that people have been talking about in this thread.
