Clean the ****ing pipes you lazy ****s.
I mean we definitely lead the world in ****ty beers. But there is just such a ridiculous diversity, just mathematically it is likely we have some of the best beers, and I just dont buy some argument that we are incapable of making good beers. Its basically just a science, and a straightforward, simple one at that. Its pretty easy to make a clone of just about any beer and have it taste ~the same, with some small differences based on water used, equipment etc.

My grandma always used to make the point that the same # of people died in Vietnam that die on the US highways every year. None of the family ever had any idea what her point was. We just let her make it and moved on.

Wait what? No way 60k ppl die on American highways annually, right?

Edit: Well it's 40k a year now, probably more back then cause people were really drunk and care weren't very safe. Wow.

I've only had candy outside of the US on one occasion and it was amazing. Everything that you could buy in check out lane was substantially better than nice things in the US.

This was the 70s when the automakers were still fighting seatbelts with all their might. Also before 55 mph. A '67 Impala with no seatbelts going 80 doesn't leave survivors.

I very much enjoy trying the candy or cookie with the silliest name when I'm traveling. Corno! Freejoi! Banjo!

Also there weren't ambulances. Pre-70s usually small towns had the towns undertaker pickup accident victims in the hearse and take them to the hospital (the hearse being the only automobile you could lay down in). Strange but true.

Was listening to Jim Bohannon talk to some guy about how awesome and unique the USA is on the radio on the way into work. Apparently Americans spend by far the most time doing volunteer work. Something like 5-fold more than the next closest country. Kinda makes me feel bad for rarely volunteering for anything.

I sometimes pick up feral cats from shut ins, take them to be neutered, and return them. It's very rewarding.

And medical errors and hospital infections kill like 4 Vietnams/year. But not really because it's mostly old people. So basically like 1/2-1 Vietnam per year.

Poor ginger, completely unable to comprehend the logic defying reality that making great beer is an art, a craft.

Beer its just a science, oh the humanity.

I think that pretty clearly USA#1 overall compared to England or Great Britain or whatever the **** those islands are calling themselves these days. I mean what does gas cost there like 7 dollars a pint or whatever the ****? But the USA craft beer fanboy butthurt is pretty amusing. Pretty clearly England has better beer.

We have the fastest computer too. USA #1 ldo.

U.S. wins: Fastest supercomputer in world is right here

Comparing a population of 300, 000, 000 to 60, 000, 000 is verging on ******ed.

It would be better to compare the USA to Europe.

In which case,

Europe wins the prize for greatest scientists and scientific contribution. In fact, most of the greatest "American" scientists are European. Try getting to the moon without Europe.
Europe wins at literature
Europe wins at women, thanks to slavic girls.
America wins at Movies
Europe wins at Music thanks to Britain. (we give you Pink Floyd and you give us ****ing Snoop Dogg and Donny ****ing Osmond )
Europe wins at food (yes, I know cheese in a can is a delicacy for you, but Europe has much more variety in its food)
Europe wins at not being ******ed (in Britain Darwin appears on the banknotes, in America they debate whether he should be taught in schools)
America wins at commercialism
Europe wins at cars (Porsche, Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Bentley, Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Jaguar, etc, etc)
Europe wins at sport (most popular sports in the world arrived from Britain. Europe wins at Olympic medals tally)
Europe wins at history
America wins at military power
America wins at more diverse landscape/countryside (desserts/mountains/greenery)
Europe wins at more beautiful and diverse cities

Admittedly Hitler was an evil guy. But we also had Churchill. Who interestingly is Half American, so a nice little connection there with our American brothers.

BTW, I'm not Anti-American. I like America and think American global hegemony is a good thing, but the arrogance displayed by Americans in this thread has been staggering.

Spoiler:
What could possibly go wrong?

Epic Ownage.

BTW Britain also has access to printing presses and has injected billions of pounds into it's economy aswell. I think Europe and America are both ****ed and will be kicked from the throne in the near future.

In fact, it would be a nice debate:

Who's more ****ed the USA or Europe?

Also, I like how Zimbabwe's banknote has a pile of rocks on it as it's national symbol.

Not any more they don't. Now they just use the USD.

But since Zimbabwe started using the United States dollar as its currency in 2009, it has run into a surprising quandary. Once worth too little, money in Zimbabwe is now worth too much.
...
By virtually wiping out inflation, analysts say, use of the United States dollar saved Zimbabwe from total economic collapse and brought the country back from the brink.
They have trouble because the dollar is too valuable! Hopefully there will be a solution for this inefficiency.
