I have no desire to move to China, Britain, Norway or Canada. Pick any place on the planet, and I'd want to be in America over it. This isn't something that is up for debate, it's a slam dunk.

Edit : The US isn't simply an important country. It's isn't a superpower, or a hyperpower. It's easily, and I mean by far, the most powerful country in the history of human civilization. Think about that for a second - of all the empires in the history of the world, America surpasses all of them, and easily.
Personal preferences ftw.
America is one of the last places on earth I would like to move to. Give me France, Germany, Netherlands, UK, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, New Zealand etc any day.

No country is perfect, including America. Everyone makes their own choice for their own reasons, that's why just as many people choose other countries to move to. Hell, we have tens of thousands moving here to the UK every year, and we're just a tiny smear in the North Sea.

To each his own.

Lol there were empires that lasted for 1000 of years and people ITT are saying that America is better and more powerfull than them , altho America has been somehow "important" country in the world only for the last 100 years..... and the tide is already changing.

As far as culture, technology, military, political, economic, intellectual metrics are considered?

Not even close. Who else had world-wide influence even close to the US right now? Largest empire was Britain, largest land empire was the Mongols, the Romans kicked butt for a long time, but I'd argue those empire didn't touch every part of the planet (Britain was close).

Granted, just from technology the world is a very different place than it was just 50 years ago, much less 500.

What continent on earth does the US not have vast influence on right now? (That the US actually wants to be part of). Just think of the influence in the middle east - and we're on the opposite side of the planet.

Why being a communist in US is so bad? Problems with China? trollface.jpg

That the usa is a hyperpower makes it the most desirable for you why? Small penis syndrome?

It might come as a shock to you, but the world isnt black and white. The us is leading in some health care procedures, other countries in others. Same goes for other technologies. Rich saudis go to german hospitals too, as do americans.

And seriously, who never won the (real) football worldcup can't consider themselves an important country.

Clearly, the present global empire is likely to be the furthest reaching and most powerful. As will the next one. Duh!

Absolutely this. The primary problem with this thread is people are conflating "greatest" with "best place to live" or "most pleasant" or whatever. Incorrect. That's like saying the Padres are the greatest baseball franchise because you can get Green Flash IPA at the stadium. Bull****, the Yankees are the greatest team in baseball because they kick ass, in and out, decade after decade and everyone knows it. And that's why folks call the the US the greatest country in a way you don't see directed elsewhere (save maybe LOLChina).

That's not to say that life in Denmark or Norway or Andorra isn't just Jim-dandy wonderful. I'm sure it is. And I'm sure the people there are just great, friendly, salt and the earth sorts and all that. But that doesn't change the fact that the US eats countries like that for breakfast.

This.

US chicks are also hotter because they eat european girls for breakfast.

Europe is kind of broad

generally i agree cuz obv we are number one at being fat but girls in the U.K. are pretty disgusting on average frankly and in everywhere in Europe their teeth are noticeably worse than people in the states
06-01-2012 , 07:19 PM
I agree about the uk part. But then the uk isnt really european.

I disagree about the teeth. Theeth might not be bleached to the same extend, but that's about it.

I deal with customers from all over the world face to face and women from Eastern Europe are the best looking in the world. American women aren't special. American TV shows chose really good looking American girls to represent them, but the average American girl are no better looking than western European girls.

First, "greatest" is obviously subjective. Its ridiculous to tell someone that their view of what "greatest" means with regards to countries is incorrect.

Second, This thread is "Do You Actually Think America is Better Than Other Countries?" and not "... Greater Than Other Countries".

i don't disagree at all although it depends on where you are...if you are in an upper middle class neighborhood in America a lot of the women are a 1 on the only scale that really matters

eastern european girls the nuts for sure at least amongst whites

But you're just telling me that my definition of greatest is incorrect. A bit hypocritical eh?

Except when a Real American is telling you sadsacks USA #1. In that case not only is it correct, it is correct with extreme prejudice. USA #1.

Generally speaking, the poorer the country, the more pretty the women, in my travels. Richer = fatter. In America, damn, by the time they get through a bachelors degree the partying + sunbathing + starbucks + mcdonalds has already paid its toll. The sunbathing especially tends to really destroy the looks of a lot of Western women by the time they get into their thirties imho.

So far, to my knowledge, no-one has argued that the US ranks number one on a single one of these.
I think we are number one on Incarceration Rates, but that might be a different number one than you're talking about.

Lol.

First - maybe do some reading on demographics of the two countries.

Second - we had a female prime minister a few decades ago.

Third - His claim was that electing Obama was a sign of global leadership. I'm not sure what Canada has to do with anything.
