That is one of the worst arguments I have ever heard.
The average amount of life lost for each death is 30 years master. You can try to classify it however you want, alcohol is still the most popular way for a person to kill themselves.

What are you talking about go after? Less availability of guns leads to less suicide and death by gun. It has been proven time and time and time again.

And alcoholism is a treatable disease. Shotimthefaceism, not so much

We could go full out ******ed like the UK, is that what you want?

Basic laws on knives

It is illegal to:

sell a knife of any kind (including cutlery and kitchen knives) to anyone under 18
carry a knife in public without good reason - unless it’s a knife with a folding blade 3 inches long (7.62 cm) or less, eg a Swiss Army knife

https://www.gov.uk/find-out-if-i-can...-carry-a-knife

Yep if your under 18 you can't buy silverware in the UK.

So wanting to shoot yourself in the face is not a treatable disease? What should we do then?

Also, you are marginalizing suicide in a really sick way and should probably stop. People who get drunk and flip their cars while out partying are not committing suicide.

Depression is a treatable disease and should be treated by a mental health professional. Guess what, those without access to guns cannot kill themselves with guns and have more of an opportunity to be treated for their depression

All sorts of fun stats here:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2872355/

My favorites are alcoholics are 120 times more likely to commit suicide and account for 20-40% of all completed suicides.

What do you think is involved in many people deciding to shoot their face?

Hint: it's alcohol
07-02-2014 , 03:17 PM
So then how can we remove the access of guns to the people?
07-02-2014 , 03:18 PM
Only thing that stops a bad fifth of vodka is a good fifth of vodka.

Want to take a stab at how many of those complete the suicide with a gun?

The alcoholism is treatable, and should be treated. As is the depression. Having easy access to the gun increases the likelihood that a suicide will be successful and treatment won't be able to be sought.

You are committing a false equivalency. It's time to stop

In many, yes. You know what's always involved with people deciding to shoot their face?

Hint: it's guns

Alcoholism is treatable, but so many people fall through the cracks. If only we limited access to alcohol we could save so many lives.

PS - Your line of well it does it slowly so it doesn't count is ****ing dumb. Results yo.

Increase restrictions, require training, prevent p2p sales, increase background checks and the depth of the background checks

Fine let's play your game then. I'll agree. So you are on board with banning guns of I am on board with banning alcohol, right?

The majority of gun homicide/ suicide is done in cities with a strong Democratic Party affiliation. Seems if we just ban democrats from purchasing guns, we would see a significant improvement:

I dont know if id support that, but it definitely isnt full out ******ed. I cant think of any good reason to carry a bowie knife around London.

I also don't know a ton of kids under 18 heading to Macy's to buy silverware
