Try as you might, nobody here has come close to presenting a valid slippery slope argument against voting for the background check bill.

Hilarious. The slippery slope argument is what is responsible for the failure of the enhanced background check bill. You had it backwards.

I never suggested that legislators or voters were bound to logic.

In any case, no, thats not what I meant. When I or someone else in this thread has said that slippery slope is in this case an invalid argument, GRA's have responded with the equivalent of "but its used all the time effectively"!

This is very irrelevant to the point that the argument is logically invalid.

Its not that you are giving an incorrect response, your response is not applicable.

What this, pvn proving he can barely comprehend the English language? And using a snappy one-liner with no substance to do so?

Well I never!

No I mean disregard all the stuff you have been blabbering on about. Incremental change aka the slippery slope is real and many who advocate for more gun control are trying to get as much restriction as they can. It is not a good idea for them to admit this so they don't. Some do though.

In summary, who gives a ****

Translation: I can't prove this, but trust me it's happening.

I sure hope you extend the same courtesy to 9/11 truthers and new world order believers that you expect here.

also logic= blathering.... so awesome.

Sommerset, you don't get it. Pilk understands that people like DBJ are just gun grabbers. Obv dbj can't admit it, but he clearly is because, y'know, slippery slopes or something

Yes keep walking it back. first it was nobody, now it's well yeah that's just one crazy person, etc.

Yeah, keep ****ing that 'they'll ban guns in no time if we run background checks' chicken.

There are over 100 million guns in the United States and no registry. Gun confiscation simply is not happening.

dude I totally agree that it's not happening any time soon

read for comprehension instead of just letting your lizardbrane kneejerk when you see keywords.

"it's not going to happen" and "this is what certain people would like to see" are not mutually exclusive

of course nobody can post in this thread without ratcheting the rhetoric all the way up
05-10-2013 , 05:13 PM
i mean, of course some people want to ban guns. some people want to ban all abortions, its not a reason not to prohibit late term coat hangers.

I asked earlier:

... and got no answer. What would your estimates be?

I can't prove it? Feinstein's quote has been posted many times itt. Case closed openly admitted to advocating a ban. It's not up for debate, it is true. Just because you are trying to block it out doesn't make it false.

Also lmfao at comparing the stated views of a US Senator who sponsored the original awb to a 9/11 truther.

Yeah and people who just want to make it harder to get abortions aren't trying to ban them altogether right?

So in your mind, one U.S. Senator has more pull than the stated (or implicit) views of both houses+ the POTUS?

You are a conspiracy theorist to the hilt, there is nothing surprising about you.

That there is some kind of plan that will be put in place to ban guns in the United States, and this recent legislation is step one.
