Yeah imagine being so warped that even when you invent a story you still come out looking like a total ass hole.

Multiple people were injured in a shooting Wednesday night at a bar in Thousand Oaks, California, authorities said.

Update: 10+ dead

sigh
11-08-2018 , 08:25 AM
At least 12 dead 10+ wounded.

So absurd. 304th multi/mass shooting of year in US.
11-08-2018 , 08:32 AM
My goodness, apparently some people who survived the Las Vegas shootings last year (also at a country music festival) were at the Borderline nightclub in Thousand Oaks last night.

These things are so common you could be a survivor of multiple mass shooting events.
11-08-2018 , 08:39 AM
That is crazy.
11-08-2018 , 08:40 AM
I've read about that happening previously with other shootings. I don't remember which ones because there are so many in this ****ed up country.
11-08-2018 , 08:42 AM
This is going to be out of the news by the end of the day imo, just background noise
11-08-2018 , 08:43 AM
Why again. So ****ing sad. So tired of hearing about this ****.

"thoughts and prayers" go **** yourselves.
11-08-2018 , 08:46 AM
Just now reading about this on reddit, it's so ****ed up.
11-08-2018 , 08:49 AM
Shooter apparently killed himself. Don't want to speculate but statistically it's likely to be another right wing nut job.
11-08-2018 , 08:49 AM
I was about to say that the distance between this and the shooting in Pittsburgh wasn't even two weeks but I forgot some incel bro shot up a yoga studio last week.
11-08-2018 , 09:01 AM
Haven't seen any of the interviews but from what I'm seeing the media there is being really insensitive **** faces. People almost died and they're trying to get their scoop interviews asking what it was like to be nearly killed while these victims are still in shock.

I understand local media has an important role in society but holy ****, **** off with this insensitive bull****. They shouldn't be using tragedy for ratings like this.

Yeah this level of shooting would have taken up a huge chunk of the news cycle for weeks and weeks in the past. But now it will disappear quickly, essentially immediately. We have completely normalized this.
11-08-2018 , 10:02 AM
Surprised there isn’t a mass shooting sub forum on here with how often they happen. Just awful.
11-08-2018 , 11:10 AM
307th mass shooting in the United States this year
11-08-2018 , 11:19 AM
I assume thoughts and prayers have been in full swing for a while now
11-08-2018 , 11:25 AM
The guy used an extended magazine, sucks for those last few victims. T&P's all around of course, nothing to be done.

but for real the main point that gets lost in all this patriotic hoo-ra military worshipping jingoism is that the marine corps specifically is designed to train kids to become unthinking killing machines. a significant % of the people in there are psychopaths to begin with and only enlisted as an excuse to go blow **** up and kill people without getting thrown in jail. our society regards these guys as heroes just for volunteering/enlisting, and like can incidents like this at least pls help us get to a point where we can stop doing that

Little bit of hopium:

Another very big win: In Colorado Congressional District 6, Republican incumbent Mike Coffman, who had an "A" rating from the NRA, lost to Democrat Jason Crow in one of the nation's spendiest congressional races. Crow, an Army Ranger veteran, was a first-time candidate but managed to get an "F" rating from the NRA even without holding office, an achievement we hope he'll continue to uphold once he's in Congress.

And in Georgia, Lucy McBath, who went into politics after the 2012 "stand your ground" murder of her son, Jordan Davis, was finally projected to win her race against incumbent Republican Karen Handel. (Handel conceded this morning!) Handel had an "A" rating and an endorsement from the NRA, while McBath had the moral high ground and over $4 million in support from gun reform groups.

Marine with PTSD and therefore liberals' fault because they don't support our troops. Also if everyone in the bar had been armed it wouldn't have happened. EZ game.
11-08-2018 , 12:48 PM
His gun's normal magazine holds 10 rounds, but he had an extended magazine that was illegal in California. Checkmate gun control laws because the deplorable state next door still sells **** that no one needs for home protection.
11-08-2018 , 02:36 PM
when a military guy goes postal like this at home i always wonder how many innocent civilians they wasted while they were overseas
