This. The world would be a better place without these people.

Worth noting is also that if you truly are hunting for food then a long-barreled shotgun and a well-trained dog will get you a far more regular supply of meat than an AR-15, or even a bolt action deer rifle for that matter.

That's solid.

"Guns don't kill people, people kill people."

"If you take away guns only bad people will have guns."

"What about Planned Parenthood?"

Yeah, CNN still hasn't learned that giving shameless liars a platform doesn't inform anybody. The only legitimate reason I can think of to have Dana there is a direct target for the kid's to channel their rage at. Just cut off her mike and let the teens roast her for a hour straight.

I brought up veganism because if you're opposed to hunting for moral reasons then you've got to take that to the conclusion of being a vegan, and this isn't the place for a vegan vs carnivore discussion. I even concede that veganism stands on higher moral ground; it just doesn't have anything to do with a discussion to ban guns.

I wanted it excised because, of course, it was going to become some stupid irrelevant conversation like this one. Which I am perpetuating by responding to your post. Well done.

We can advocate for banning guns without needing to resort to "meat is murder"

I buy clothes and gadgets made by child slave labour, almost certainly. The fact that I'm not willing to expend more effort/money to stop that being the case makes me a sucky person but if someone got pleasure out of traveling to china or wherever to watch the clothes being made and maybe give out a beating or two that's a more reprehensible position. I can look down on that person even though I suck.
02-21-2018 , 03:07 PM
Surely the NRA rep is going to get shredded? Seems a terrible idea for them to even attempt to argue against these kids at this point.

So you're arguing hunters should look down on grocery shoppers that support factory farming...? Huh?

This is a stupid derail

I can't see them doing anything else but repeating standard talking points and maybe being condescending, which will be "getting shredded" in the eyes of non-idiots but I'm sure it will get rave reviews from Fox
02-21-2018 , 03:17 PM
No, the point is non-hunters should get off the moral high horse.

My eight year old's elementary school did another "safety drill" today. And by "safety drill" I mean "if there is a stranger in the school drill".

In the most non-surprising twist of the day, Ted Nugent promotes that the Parkland kids are actors.

Sadly predictable but no less disgusting.

almost as if CNN is just in this to make money and isn't a liberal ally

Whatever happens, when the NRA rep talks you will get to see what it looks like when someone has *actually* been coached to the nines on talking points.

Former principal who (while armed) detained a school shooter in 1997 offers thoughts on arming teachers

Quote:
But one assistant high school principal who survived a school shooting — after loading his Colt .45 pistol, then chasing and detaining the suspect at gunpoint — says the idea is misguided.

“Teachers have to teach and that’s what they should be doing,” said Joel Myrick, the former assistant principal at a high school in Mississippi. “It doesn’t matter what a pistolero you are, or think you are, you don’t need to be in school in charge of protecting children.”
Quote:
[Gun restriction] was a topic Mr. Myrick, who vividly recalls the damage that a relatively slow lever-action rifle caused on a high school campus, wanted to discuss, too. “If Luke Woodham had an AR-15, he probably would have killed 20 people instead of two,” he said. “There’s not a soul on the planet who needs an AR-15 except military.”

Superintendent of a Texas school district has threatened to suspend any students who protest guns for three days.

Why do I feel this is a really really bad line for him to take?

Right-wingers: these kids are being coached in left wing talking points and why should we care about their opinion anyway
Also right-wingers: it's very important that the NRA, who is literally funded by the gun industry, has a voice in this debate

How many shooting survivors are invited to speak at CPAC, or at NRA meetings?
