Good job everyone
Like most of your posts this appears to be gibberish, but do you want to expand on whatever you're talking about that causes <10 deaths per year?

The Washington state initiative i referenced

The intention is to increase entry costs to purchasing semi auto assault rifles. The lack of understanding in the gibberish.

First, it's illegal for a civilian to own an assault rifle

Second, based on the language, most 22s would be considered an assault rifle based on the language

Third, from the breakdown i read, rifles account for about 10 deaths annually in washington state

Ah, okay. From what I'm reading, it seems pretty reasonable: https://ballotpedia.org/Washington_B...itiative_(2018)

- $25 fee on firearm purchases to fund things like mental health treatment
- requires waiting periods, safety training, and background checks
- expands existing restrictions on purchases of pistols to also include semi-auto rifles
- adds requirements that people purchasing firearms secure them from others prohibited from possessing firearms

Hopefully this succeeds and more states can work to implement common sense gun restrictions like this. Thanks for bringing it to our attention!

I guess he's rustled that the law defines a term, and since he doesn't like the definition, he considers it a misuse of the term, even though they spell out explicitly what they mean by the term.

Sorry that they are placing some very minor obstacles in the way of you enjoying your happy funtime leisure hobby. Perhaps consider reading books or playing solitaire instead.

Yeah man, we sink billions of dollars on ways to reduce deaths from cancer, heart disease, diabetes, flu, and others, and it's working. Why are firearm deaths unique, where we are supposed to conclude that nothing can be done -- indeed, that nothing MUST be done -- to reduce deaths?

Because the only practical and effective solution would be to ban the guns.

Woman asks judge to make her ex give up his guns after a pattern of abuse, judge refuses, he kills her and two others

Quote:
Before she and two others were shot dead near Ardmore on Sunday, Debra Ann Rivera twice had asked a judge to order her ex-husband to surrender his guns because of alleged abuse.

The request was denied both times.

According to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, Darwin Brazier, 43, used a semi-automatic SKS rifle with a high-capacity magazine to shoot his ex-wife and two other victims multiple times and then shot himself to death near his home in Madison County.

In addition to 41-year-old Rivera, the Sheriff’s Office said Brazier killed her husband Radex Rivera, 41; and their roommate, Timothy James Hayward-Boger, 59.
Quote:
Debra Rivera most recently petitioned Limestone County Circuit Judge Chad Wise for a protection-from-abuse order March 1. Wise granted it on a temporary basis, but on April 10 terminated the temporary order and denied her request for a permanent order.

“He calls my husband threatening to hurt both of us,” Rivera wrote in the court filing. “(He) drives by my house all hours of day to check where I am. He is upset I am now married and don’t want to be with him. He has been physical in the past, pulled a gun on me. … I know he has anger toward me and in past has caused physical pain to me.”

Rivera said in the petition that Brazier was stalking her and that he called her so frequently that she had to change her phone number.

According to court documents, Rivera and Brazier divorced in 2005. They reconciled after the divorce and had two daughters, ages 11 and 5. After a contentious custody proceeding, Wise on Dec. 17 granted custody of the girls to Rivera and provided Brazier with visitation rights.

“All of this activity has been going on for a year but has become worse since I was given custody of the kids,” Rivera wrote in her abuse petition, which requested that Brazier be enjoined from having contact with her.

In a one-sentence response, Brazier’s lawyer denied the allegations by Rivera, who was not represented by an attorney. Rivera and Brazier attended a hearing in Wise’s courtroom April 10 and on the same day he issued an order denying the petition.

Gun murder rate in Montana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky, Texas, Arizona, and 23 other states is higher than the rate in New York.

You're right, we need to do more to stop cross-state gun purchases. Chicago isn't helped when neighboring Gary, Indiana has lax gun laws. Glad you agree!

What in the **** is "gorilla math" supposed to mean?
