From my cold, dead. hands! Except in Detroit and Chicago From my cold, dead. hands! Except in Detroit and Chicago

Well that depends on who you ask. Taxes being theft and all of course the answer to that question is yes.
12-03-2012 , 04:42 AM
I'm asking goofball, not LirvA or Boro.

Do you really believe this? In the US it is a civil right by any definition of the phrase:

1) second amendment says arms (nukes? b-52s? stealth fighters? drones?)
2) second amendment is arcane

When I say civil right I mean more a natural right. If you think the definition should be "what's allowed under the law in the country you're in" then we don't have much to talk about.

It's both.

For instance, do police personnel use their guns to commit armed robbery very often?
In my ideal society uniformed police officers don't carry guns either.

(the answer to your question is I'm sure they don't but so the **** what)

You seem to just have piss-poor second level thinking on this issue. You seem to think people who are pro gun control do so because a) they have an irrational fear of guns and b)they think they live on sesame street.
12-03-2012 , 12:31 PM
You've contradicted yourself. You're well aware of the fact that there are millions of gun owners who will own guns their whole lives and never injure a soul.

You're also aware that there's a tiny minority who will use their guns to cause death and harm.

You also know that of the former, a very large majority would turn in their collections as ordered by the fascists.

You know the latter would not.

Have you accomplished anything worthwhile?

If you think you have, you're beyond hope with your dogmatic beliefs.

Again, not that its going to happen but some sort of gun round up means we are going down the drain to communist hell.
I can't even fathom how misguided this reaction to taking your guns is. Take us through this scenerio please Neblis. So, the federal agents come to your house to take your guns. Are you going to send your family to your sisters and just shoot on sight? Please tell us exactly how this would go down.

I'm pretty sure there would be a cry of WOLVERINES! in there somewhere.

Where does the "natural or human right" stop - Mac 10, bazooka, SAM, nuke, radioactive tiger?

I contemplated lots of ugly dark things during that time but LDO I didn't do it... and he would not have either.

While the guy didn't have a gun he was living with her in a house with easy access to knives, machettes, crowbars, poisons, stairs, cars etc etc. The reason he didn't kill his ex is not because he did not have the means. He didn't kill her because he's not a murderer.

This idea that a gun somehow makes murder easy or accessible is just pure nonsense. Crushing her skull while she slept or drowning her in the tub would have been 100% more certain, silent, etc and yet it didn't happen.
Listen, I've never shot a gun, crushed someone skull or drowned someone in the tub but of the three, the easiest and most accessible seems to me to be pulling the trigger of a gun.

just curious... is there a thread where this question was resolved? I am curious to know where the line is on weaponry (if there is one) and how that's determined legally and how it fits in logically with the pro gun arguments.

I've seen this question raised but don't that I've seen it resolved. By your tone I assume this is settled somewhere.

i want a radioactive tiger! that'd be cool!
12-03-2012 , 02:21 PM
also, a friend of mine just bought a full auto assault rifle and a military grade shotgun, so i really think this whole "THEY'S TAKIN MAH GUHNS" thing is a bit overblown.
12-03-2012 , 02:32 PM
WTF is a "military grade" shotgun?

A black one?

Also, if his gun is full auto, it's over 25 years old at a minimum and he paid at a minimum $10k - $20k for it.
12-03-2012 , 02:52 PM
i don't know. he tried explaining it to me a few weeks ago but i just looked at him like he was insane.

and yeah it is full auto. no clue how old. he bought it secondhand from a friend of his.
12-03-2012 , 02:56 PM
Hope he knows what he's doing.

There's a lot of nuance to legally obtaining NFA weapons. Hopefully he's not running afoul of the ATF here.

You mean the government is infringing on his friend's civil rights? Worse than the Holocaust!
